no, Horrors are from another planet/plane of existence, and create astral
bridges when the magic level on a planet is high enough to support their
life...they are not traveling through time, but are just longlived (like
Harlequin) and have been waiting for the magic to rise again...

this brings up an interesting point that no-one seems to have brought up
yet...if the magic level is rising, shouldn't more and more people become
magically active? maybe shadowrunners can start to develop special innate
magical powers like earthdawn characters have based on character class.
also, maybe spells, with strong astral backing, are becoming more powerful,
and that mage who used to cast a force 6 fireball is finding that the astral
energy is becoming more powerful, and he has to figure drain as if the spell
were force 7 or 8? maybe mages will have to move towards thread weaving and
astral spell matrices so that they won't burn themselves out with the
increase in magical energy in the world...

just some idle thoughts...

Its not the mana level thats attracting them this time, its the after effects
of the Great Ghost dance thats allowing them access earlier than normal.
Check out Tom Dowds short story on Harlequin's Back for more.

True eventually more people will be magically active, but magic rises slowly
, and as such new mages/users of magic will be born rather than suddenly
find themselves with power. Remember to use the power requires natural
aptitude, and extensive training. Its this last one thats most important. Mages
study for years, and shamans learn the ways of the spirts of years until they
truly master their art.

As to the use of thread weaving and spell matrix's, they dont hold more
powerful magic than 'raw' or standard SR magic, they are just much safer,
both in drain effects (which their are none), and in attracting astral attention.
And considering that Horrors are mainly astral creatures attracting their
attention tends to be very bad.

But enough said about ED, this is the SR list. And while they are tied in
some ways (ie basic history), they are still seperate systems.

A'Deus.

No good. It's hard to cause as much terror and absorb it like that...

Of course, you can make Horror IC.
