Read _Debt of Honor_ by Tom Clancy sometime. In it, agents of Japanese
Zaibatsu bring down the NYSE in an attempt to cripple the US economy, in
order to be able to recover their own. (Much better explanation in it as to
why this was supposed to work. The zaibatsu A) already were in trouble (The
US was imposing stiff trade barriers) and B) had hedged the Yen to keep it
strong.)
