SR2 Companion mentions an edge called "State of the Art Model" which
allows for better cyberware in a character. I noticed it's not in SR3
Companion.

How would people reflect this ability under SR3?

Exactly as printed in the second edition Companion, except that alpha-
grade cyberware is available to all characters in SR3. There is nothing in
that edge that really contradicts or is incompatible with SR3, so you can
use it as it's in the book.

I wonder if they are saving the State of the Art edge for inclusion in Man &
Machine? Isn't the book still being written? Maybe they have some new form
of cyberware in it and didn't want to confuse people by mentioning it in the
revised SRComp.

I'd question them not want to put it in to not confuse people. The 3rd Ed
Comp did refer to things in MitS, and it hadn't come out yet.

Yeah, but the two came out pretty close together. Man & Machine won't be out
until September.

Perhaps.

What I've got is a player who wants a 'Deltaware' cyber eye with datajack. With
a backstory that's he's an amnesiac and has no idea who he is or where the eye
comes from. So he's also got the amnesia and Hunted flaws to offset the supposed
edge.

I've approved letting him do this. But without access to an updated version
of the edge I'm unsure on how to handle it rules wise. In the end we 'cut and
paste' from second edition on this one, with a note from me that he may need
a revision when Man and Machine comes out.

First Run confused me quite a few times with all it's references to Corporate

You could use the mysterious cyberware edge ... deltaware cybereye and
datajack ... perhaps a cortex bomb thrown in for grins. Or how about 600
Mp of delta rade headware memory and a datalock? :)

In all honesty, I'm not sure you could. To me, it's part of the lifestyle
cost modifications and not an "Edge" that one would begin with.
