Yeah, it's a nice image, but I don't think it would happen. Remember that
the pickups (and the internal hardware) will have to be shielded somewhat
just to protect against the elements (Now, no swimming, standing in the
rain, or going through airport metal detectors. Say, you did sign the
medical waiver and release form, didn't you?)

And how would you just walk up to a cybered-to-the-hilt samurai and box
his ears? That's going to be the hard part :).

Somehow, I don't see basic protection from the elements (water
resistance, etc.) as being able to protect the cyberwear from the
electrical shock that is produced by a shock glove! I mean, no wearing
headphones would not short them out (within safety guidelines), but
having a mass amount of electricity discharge that close to them would
certainly have an effect. Even if it wasn't a result of the electrical
content of the discharge directly, just think of the frequency overload
on the ears if there wasn't a damper!

I still say it would be extremely painful. ;)

Re: Samurai getting a charge out of ear-boxing w/shock gloves

WOuld it be possible, for those sammies concerned about electrical
discharges ("By day, he's a mild-manned CalFree Edison employee, but
when the shadows grow, and danger threatens, he becomes....")
to get some form of "grounding" option? Little wire going down the
legs and into the ground? How about a surge protector? ("Damn! Jake,
could you just hit my reset switch for me?") How about GMium insulation?

Of course, like it was said, the hard part is getting to walk up to the
Sammi and box his ears.
