I've recently been wondering about these. Many people would be a little
reluctant to get a hole bored in their skull, productivity increase or
no (I know *I* would be), and the 'trode rig would be a perfectly
acceptable alternative. Assuming it's not in SR3 (and since most
deckers use datajacks, it might not be), does anyone have any
suggestions as to a 'trode rig's DFR (and other mechanics) as opposed to
a datajack? In _2XS_, Dirk uses a 'crown of thorns' electrode rig as a
hitcher-jack, and Buddy says it's about 20-30% efficient compared to
full-out datajack simsense.

Also, in Stranger Souls, Ryan Mercury uses a similiar net when Jane-in-the-box
takes him on a tour of the matrix. I hope that some future book will explain
how this works, what it cost, and if decking can be done with this.

IIRC, there's a mention of decking with a 'trode rig in VR2. I'll have
to check. If not, I'll have to see about coming up with some rules for
it.
