Well, in defense of Terry (the guy running the mage), at the time that he
gave the command, he was slung over the shoulder of another character who
was carrying him (at a fast jog, slow run). Plus, (damn I can't see the
earlier responses) trying to give a much more complicated command starts
to push the plausibility of getting it out in a complex action. Plus+, it
was somewhat in character for the mage to oops like that.

Also, This was meant as a humorous anecdote <sp?>, and was labeled as such.
No need to start quoting and interpreting rules at me. ;-)
(I have a hard enough time with my GM for that. [ehh, John :-} ] )
