One thing I heard about this (which is what led me to ask the question) was
that the IE's claim to have been most of the amazing people throughout the 5th
age, simply to make any humans aware of the conspiracy feel more inferior.
A couple more things (that I'm certain have been brought up before). In the
back of Tir Tairngire, they first start talking about the supposed antipathy
between elves and dragons. later, in the discussion about elven lifespan, one
of the official elves states "If we were to find a race with a life span many
times in excess of _ours_, we too would feel envy, jealousy, and hatred." Is
it just me, or does that seem to describe dragons pretty damn well?
On final, and completely unrelated note... when Dragonlance passed from the
fourth to the fifth age, most of its magical powers disappeared, or became very
hard to use. Just something that caught my eye.
