IMHO there are two good sources for this: real life, and CP2020's
Chromebooks. Using brand names from stuff that exists today (Nike shoes,
Levi's jeans, ShadowRN T-shirts, that sort of thing) is a very easy way
of giving players an idea of being in a real world, especially if you make
one brand of shoes/jeans/T-shirts more fashionable than others, like IRL.

The Chromebooks are full of interesting gear, both very useful and
completely useless (from weapons and cars to flavored cigarettes and a
bar-in-a-briefcase), and nearly all have been given manufacturers:
instead of having a "rating 4 laser microphone," you have an "Arasaka
'Komaku' Laser Mike." Check your game store for these books (there are
four), and my page for a way of using the first three in Shadowrun.
