On 21 Nov 97, Gabriel Sims disseminated foul capitalist propaganda by
writing:

Well, I don't think you'd need a separate rig to control power
armour. I mean, if a normal VCR let's you control cars, tanks, boats,
helicopters, planes, drones, human-form robots (or so I understood
from all the Rigger 2 talk here) and lotsa other stuff... well...
simple armour shouldn't be beyond it's reach.

I could see a specialized ACR that costs less than a full-fledged VCR
and allows only for armour control, though...

Well? Fry the guy with a manabolt! ;P
Seriously, simply slapping some explosive on something that is
heavily armored shouldn't damage it very much - it has to be a
properly shaped charge. (Or so I think - the resident tankmaniacs ;P
can provide more detailed analysis of the anti-armour weapons
capabilities et al.) Of course, then there's spalling... So the guy
inside should watch it. ;>

But no Reaction bonus, I hope? (And I could see this happening, but
it should be very, very pricey...)

With the Reaction bonus et al? Dang... Well, I could live with some
stuff that gives you equivalent of Boosted, but this is "a bit on the
powerful side".

Combined? Jeeez. I'm happy my GM has no such ideas...
Of course, then there was my CP2020 GM who would invent Kerenzikov +3
and military +4 version and other stuff like that.

The problem with introducing high-power stuff (I will refrain from
using the m-word ;P ) into a campaign is that it usually leads to
power escalation. And besides, it usually messes with continuity with
"official" gameverse. I mean, stuff like this would be prolly
mentioned in FASA publications...

UGH. 50 mm? 50 FRAGGING MM? That's five centimeters, for Pete's sake!
That's a fraggin' big gun. Naah. That one would be too much of a
stretch for me.
IOW not in my campaign... (Well, not in my GM's campaign anyway...)

Pretty logic, ain't it? And what's the recoil modifier on this baby?
+10?
