That's represented by the rating of the fake ID, if it's a low
rating, the work hasn't gone into it to make it appear legit, i.e.
active like a real SIN.
] I'd say that was part of the rating of the scanner and the context. If
] you're renting a coffin or buying a soyburger, no way is someone going to
] run a full scan on your credit history. A cop pulling you over for speeding
] might notice. If you apply for a mortgage with that ID then you're in much
] more trouble.
And yeah, even if you have a low rating Credstick, you can still buy
groceries and ride the bus

] I used the "backup" SINs as journalists, registered mercenaries, contract
] staff, et cetera. "No, Officer, I've been out of town a while. I was in
] _insert foreign country_." Not enough to allay _all_ doubts, but maybe
] enough to help with a suspicious cop in a casual check.
On this note, it seems like fake IDs, no matter how complex the
background when you initially pay for it, go stagnant when you 'stash'
them. That is, the decker you bought it from will have created an
identity that's 'real' up until the point you buy it, and then that
identity magically disappears for a couple of years, until you need it,
then becomes active again (causing the problem that was alluded to at
the top of this post). I'd think that for that, or for any fake ID you
didn't want to use regularly, you'd have to get updated. This should
cost, like a lifestyle, every month (or every six months, or whatever
you feel is appropriate). Any thoughts?
