Can an ally spirit serve as a member of a ritual sorcery team (provided he
knows the spell, of course)?

I'd say sure. Ally spirits usually have the Sorcery skill which is the
basis for Magic Pool (at least in SRII, I haven't read SR3 yet). And they
can learn spells. One of the novels even has an ally spirit preparing a
circle for a ritual spell (the Chicago bug book, with the mage protagonist),
though it doesn't take part in the ritual IIRC.

IMHO, Ally spirits with the Sorcery power are like Sorcery Adepts (or the
newer Aspected Magicians maybe?) who are limited to spells learned for
them by their master. That means they can use Ritual Magic (via sorcery),
make Wards (via sorcery), and even use Foci appropriate to spellcasting.
Those are all logical extensions of the Sorcery Adept analogy.

I would say yes, either helping cast the spell or acting as the astral
spotter. I can't find anything that would indicate otherwise. This
would also fit with any mythology (for lack of abtter word.) where a
magician is capable of more powerful magic in the presence of his/her
Ally/Homunculus.

We have allowed it in our game. Does that mean that it alright....no, but I
suppose it would be up to the GM.
