Interesting question (from my perspective) but has anyone seen Wake of the
Comet, T:WL or any of the released books out in Australia post Threats 2? I
cant find anything released after that one.. and all the shops are blaming
FanPro's shipping. I even heard the phone message between one shopkeep and
the Fanpro dude in Europe. It went something like this...(paraphrased)

Fanpro: Hello
Shopkeep: Yeah hi, I want to place an order.
F: ok what.
S: <gives order..a pretty big order actually - several crates worth at
least>
F: hold on.
S: .. waits..
F: sorry we cant fill the order. Order again in a month.
(nb: orders take at least a month minimum to arrive via frieght shipping and
they has already been waiting a month due to other 'shipping' delays)
S: why?
F: the order is too big. we are filling small orders first.
S: <mildly expletive expression of disbelief>

nb: Adam: if youre reading this, you might like to pass the word that a
number of Sydney, Australia shops are thinking of stopping handling
FanPro/Wizkids product lines because Fanpro suck so badly at service and
customer care in the region. Its the topic of the month.. err.. last few
months (as of two weeks ago) down here. No, I dont know who the shop dude
was talking to at Fanpro.

Is anyone else finding this in their part of the world?
Have any stores in Sydney got the new books?
Will the runners escape from the lone star lockup?

All this in the replies ... same time, same mailing list.

Out,

PS: I hope this situation has changed since last time I went product
hunting. I dont usually have the time to check in at the dozen or so stores
around that I can get to.

DamienM, how about Wollongong? Got any of the books there?

In Paris I am not experiencing the problem you are with getting the
books. I have them all -- including Wake of the Comet (which was the
last one to become available for me -- and more expensive than the
American price (which is not normal here)).

Contrary to my .Sig, I'm actually in Canberra now ;-). Wollongong would
suck, as there are zero game stores there (well, unless you count GW ;-)).
However, Logical Choice in Canberra does a great job of getting stuff, even
if it's difficult to find and annoying. They got me SOTA: 2063 last week or
the week before, which isn't bad for over here. You might want to enquire as
to what Australian distributors the shops in Sydney use. Apparently (so I'm
told) there are the "northern" distributors (based out of Brisbane?) and the
"southern" distributors (based out of Melbourne). The Melbourne crews have
it together, while the northern guys are completely clueless. Logical Choice
had to switch to the Melbourne guys after FanPro changed to Fast Forward for
their distribution, as the northern distributors had no idea. Logical Choice
will do mail order if you're interested, and have a web site at
http://www.logicalchoice.com.au

I've seen Wake of the Comet in my regular store (and I
think maybe Shadows of North America). I have NOT seen
Target: Wastelands or SOTA 2063. I didn't even think
the latter was out (or going to be out in the near
future) until you guys started discussing what was in
it on the list.
