I post it semi-regularly, and try to email it to the new people that I
notice joining the list, although I can't catch you all.
Its available at http://shadowrun.home.ml.org or I can email it directly to
you on request. I'll continue with posting a mini FAQ every other Saturday.

The main reason I don't post the entire FAQ more often is listserv tends to
bounce large messages sent from my shell account, so sometimes, as you have
seen, Parts I and II will arrive without part III, and it just tends to
aggravate me.

Back in the early days, or dark ages, when Listproc was still running, the
FAQ was sent as part of the subscription procedure.

All new listmembers automatically received it, the moment they subscribed.

Is listserv-lite capable of doing this?

I wouldn't say that too fast if I were you... IIRC, JD once told me he got
notified by the old Listserv (the Hearn one) of who subscribed, and he had
a script send them the FAQ. It wasn't Listserv itself doing that, so I
have a feeling Listproc didn't do it automatically either.

Well.... I subscribed to shadowrn the first time in '95 and about a minute
after I hit send, it came rolling on through. All three parts.
(Same for shadowtk)

I unsubbed and re-subbed later, and it did the same thing.

(Obviously, he'd been tinkering a bit between moving from Hearn and to
Itribe...... Hearn predates me by a year or two I think.....)

I think JD used Procmail on his shell account, and when a message came
across that said bob@*****.com has subscribed to ShadowRN, it just parsed
the email addy and threw it the FAQ's.
