I noticed it, but I was spending more time wondering what the hell those

The honest answer is that it's BAXA's art. If you want a fictional
answer so you can sleep at night they are indeed Tzimisce vampires from
WW's WoD.

Hey, I like Baxa (the stuff he and Brom did for Dark Sun is phenomenal), but
he does lean towards people familiar with the game world saying "What the fuck
is that?!?!?", doesn't he?
