Ahem. I heartily agree. I hadn't forgotten this - but it's just one example
of hundreds.

I was arguing the more difficult case: that even if mages were incredibly
rare, they would still be readily available to Corps. And that therefore,
much of FASA's background material has to be `patched up' to make sense.

And hence, FASA don't appreciate the effects of their own magic system.

I brought some of this up with Paul Hume, in letters, and his response
was pretty much like mine. The GM has to 'use' the resources the corps
have. The game controls mages real well, but the GM's gotta do the work.

Like, think about what a corp can do with it's resources, beef up the
perimiter defenses, the whole route. The modules are written as a
starting point, IMO. Raw material for the GM to fit into her world.

But that's just how I do it.

So, do I win a cookie? :-) FASA (actually, their module and story writers)
don't `use' the resources, and don't appreciate what can be done with the
magic. So the individual GMs have to patch them up; which is what our
GM does, and what I think I've been saying all along.

Maybe I'll try to collect some hard examples of modules-that-magic-screws,
Ivy, and mail you privately to see how you (or your GM) resolved the
problems. Would that be ok with you?
