Does anyone know if the 1997 FASA Catalog is out yet? I found my
old 1996 version while cleaning up the waste reffered to as my 'bedroom'.

Isn't a Fomori a vamped troll? I just got the Sr Companion and the Fomori
race that's in there seems to be nothing like the Fomori I glimpsed in

Eh, actually I meant those charismatic trolls from the SR Comp.;)
'Course, I probably wouldn't mind tickling a nasty little human bugger with
two heads that spits out worms and leaks black fluid... Black Dog sure does
make some nice sourcebook material.

According to our last Production meeting the catalog went to the printers
just before Chistmas. We'll probably get it in-house mid-January.

Oops, got my games crossed there...
According to PAoE, yes, a Fomorian is a "vamped" troll (as is the
Dzoo-noo-qua), but I can't help with the SR Companion part as I don't own
it and haven't had a chance to peruse it yet.

You've got a Fomori confused with the Fomorian, confused with White Wolf's
Fomori
The new SR Fomori is a very magical Scottish troll variant.
SR Fomorians are mutated trolls infected with the HMVV.
WW Fomori are wyrm tainted critters - essentially a kind of evil
mutant/demon.
Jason Famoori is a guy I once worked with, and not related to any of the
above. :-)

Isn't that the third time that SR has done that? (by 'that' I mean
doubling up on names for things.)

1 Banshee (HMVV infected Elf) - Bean Shide <sp?> (pronounced 'Ban-shee',
and technically a more traditional version of the myth)

2 Minotaur (the awakened bull) - Minotaur (the troll sub-type)

3 Fomori - Fomorian

Can this catalog be bought or how do I get it? Can I write a FASA chummer
and its sent to my address?

I got it by sending an email to Mike with my address and telling
him that I wanted a copy. I'm not sure about international stuff tho'. I
know there's at least one Shadowrun poster out there, saw it for sale at
the low price of $3.25, should've picked it up.

All the previous Shadowrun posters I've seen had artwork that also
appeared on a book. The one on my wall has the picture from the back of
the SRII rulebook, but with lots more stuff to the left, for example.

I've got four different posters:

1. The main sourcebook cover (Sally, Dodger & Ghost).

2. The DMZ cover.

3. The cover of Stryper Assassin.

4. The cover of Native American Nations Vol 1.

More or less, it helped to know a guy that ran a game store. :o)

There are at least 2 others:
5. A Seattle Skyline featuring a Feathered Serpent flying over the
Aztechnology Pyramid.
6. A street scene featuring most of the template characters, along
with the logo "Bright Lights, Big Guns" (or something like that).

The cover to Seattle Sourcebook.

What I actually meant was that we haven't decided on what piece of art that
we have to make the poster out of. We usually use a cover piece from our
stuff as a poster. Do you have a favorite?

If this hasn't already been done... I like the cover off of FoF,
stereotypical and munchkinous as it is. NAGRL has a nice scene too. It's
too bad that each of these feature some woman in run with her breasts all
over the place..feh. For a non-breast poster, I like Aztlan's cover, maybe
something out of Bug City, not the cover, I don't like bug-breasts... The
color plates were nice though.

Real Life and Aztlan were already done. The FoF cover is cool, I'll note it.

Also from some of the other response that people have...our posters are in
color so no B&W artwork suggestions no matter how cool they are.

Anything but the cover of Threats, VR2.0 might be nice, if not the cover =

Oh yeah! I got 2 favorites:

I love that way cool pic where a black magician lets 2 magic girls (illusion
I think) fight against each other!
I think it was the cover of the first english Grimoire and is also a picture
of the
2nd Grimoire, german version

And the 2nd is a pic where a Shadowrunner on a motorcycle (driving really
fast) is shown, and behind him sits a female magician preparing a spell... I
think I found this pic in the 1991 FASA catalog...

I think the only first ed copy of the Grimoire I've seen had a different
cover, though an old FASA catalog showed the one you describe.

Argh... the color plates in Bug City look like they were drawn by a
6-year-old (no offense to any 6-year-olds who draw like that :) IMHO they
were the worst-looking color pages I've seen in an SR book.

That's the cover from the DMZ boxed set. I have the poster.

DMZ (Downtown Militarized Zone) was a sort of Shadowrun board game. It
had a very simple (well kinda..) rules system that bore little or no
resemblence to regular SR, and had a whole set of really cool full color
maps for locations and stuff.

You're right about the 'just fighting' thing, as it tried to suggest it's
usage as a fast way to resolve large scale combat in SR. No-one was/is
terribly impressed with it (AFAIK) beyond the nice maps. The only use it
gets in my SR games is the maps and sometimes the cardboard stand-up figs.
to quickly set a scene (mostly for combat).

End Result: (sorry FASAMike..) Not exactly the biggest 'bang' for your
buck...interesting if you want to spend 20 odd bucks on something that
you'll never play, only canibalize, but not too useful.

Someone bothered to crack into your car, just to steal the SR books -
sounds like someone I can sympathize with - I want more SR books! (Runs

I wish that was all they took and because I live in a small (SMALL)
town I thought they would be alright and didn't lock the car. It's not
like we have a crime problem (about 1 crime every year). I quess it
just gives a false sense of security.

That one's easy enough... Either look at Mike's .sig, or try www.fasa.com.
A hardcopy catalog is much nicer, though. (BTW Mike, does that offer to
send out catalogs also apply to non-US addresses?)

Unless they updated it within the last two days, the
upcoming releases section only goes through August.
RBB2 is supposedly coming out in October. Please tell
me I'm right; RBB2 is the only new release I'm
looking forward to (what the hell am I gonna do with
a bunch of pictures; although I did like the color
pics in Awakenings).

Last I heard, I think FASAMike said that the RBB2 was due out in
September, but _might_ be available for Gen Con. I think.

Anyone have a list of upcoming SR3 releases?

Like what types of products and what quarter they'll be released in?

Just as a note to everyone...

I talked to Mike Mulvhill the other day about a couple of things... One
thing he mentioned is that right now their production desprtment is
slightly ahead of schedule, and Mike is working hard to keep it that way so
that products are released on time.

Here's to hoping :]

Ahead of schedule? Corp War to be released in August? I certainly hope
they didn't mean 1999... :-/

Their web page is certainly behind schedule (in most cases - they've
posted the Crimson Skies stuff now - yay! Looks cool!)...
