The recent thread on FASA's homegrown characters shows one thing very
clearly: FASA can't match the list on making munchkins. I think there may be
an employment possibility here somewhere; what better place for the
experienced pc 'optimizer' than at FASA? BTW I would've expected someone
from the 'roleplaying-not-rollplaying' camp to have pointed out the benefits
of suboptimal pc's by now. Since they seem to be asleep on the job let me
fill in [takes out munchkin skillsoft, inserts roleplaying skillsoft after
blowing off the dust].

Think of the neat roleplaying opportunities available for a bodyguard
without a decent firearms skill.

That's because there is no role playing element to their
characters. There was as much thought put into how a character
would be role played as the creation of stats.

I think it is tiredness, Terry.
I for one have simply grown bored og pointing out the pleasure and challenge
of roleplay in contrast to the stupidly immature rollplay, which so many
people seem to enjoy and have a fine time with...
So why be a party spoiler on their part? I'll just make sure that in the
groups that I participate or run, roleplay and not rollplay will be the
modus.

Guess I'll stay satisfied as being simply a member of a small distinquished
roleplaying community who knows and shares well enough my points of
view, so the need for my opening my mouth will be minor indeed :O - not
that that'll stop me if my passions get the better of me :)

Yeah, know that feeling. You do that in your group, I do that in mine,
our peers do in theirs. But why preach? Better lead by example than by
force - today, in this environment, the latter has a disturbing tendency
to fail completely :)
