My roomie just returned from Glathricon, and says that the word is that FASA is
leaving GEnie and going to America Online. I'll say that I haven't seen Tom
on GEnie in several months, Sam's only been there a few times, and the primary
semi-official person there is Paul Hume. Apparently Guy McLimore, the guy who
wrote a third of the Star Trek RPG, has some sort of major project going on AOL
with over 200 writers involved, and many game companies. We're going to be
checking it out; he brought back a kit that gives us each 5 hours free time on
AOL to check it out. It's pricy; $10 a month and $3 per hour after the first
free five. Will post results when I have them. Dunno if this board's getting
to FASA or not; maybe Mr. Hayden has an answer to that one?

I really doubt it. At least not to my knowledge.

We COULD forward the list to FASA on GEnie or AOL. All we'd need is their
account name and it's easy for a listowner to paste the name in.

But it might also cost them to go between networks and I don't know if
they'd have enough interest in SHADOWRN or SHADOWTK to pay the cost.

As of July 1, it will no longer incur a surcharge to receive Internet mail
on GEnie. At that time, you can send mail to Tom Dowd at fasa.support@*****.
geis.com, Sam at fasa@*****.geis.com, and Paul Hume at fasa.2@*****.geis.com
without it costing them money to receive it. However, at the same time,
GEnie wil start charging more for regular services, so I dunno how many
people will stay on the service.

For those of us who are GEnie (Everytime I see this word they are
capitalizing different ^#%$* letters!) illiterate, do those on
this service get charged for responding? ie they won't respond to
all the internet stuff since it would cost them major $$$?
