With FASA closing I suppose that it is pointles sending in response cards from the last
books that I'm still reading, but it made me think.

Has anybody ever won any of those "weekly drawings for FASA merchandise", and if
so what did you win?

This came up on AOL a while back, and the answer was that years ago,
someone knew someone that had gotten a T-shirt or something.
When asked, Mike M said that he read the responses (WOOHOO!) and then
sent them down to marketing. The drawing's were "a marketing thing" but
he didn't know what was happening with them.
I'd say they fell through the cracks, if you asked marketing, they
probably said each line did their own drawings, while each line thought
marketing did it.

Really? Well, bully for him then. My impression was that they used to put
them all in a big box and promised themselves they would get around to
reading them just as soon as they "weren't to busy" cranking out new
Shadowrun books.

This wasn't exactly one of the "weekly drawings" but when the election
of 2057 was the big campaign plot and the product response cards in the
books were "ballots" for the election, I managed to win a few things. I
had sent mine in voting for Dunkelzhan and apparently my card was drawn.

I think I got third prize and I won a copy of Dunkelzhan's Secrets, a
full set of the press passes/badges, a $25 gift certificate, a black arm
band to wear in memory of Dunkelzhan, a Shadowrun pin, and a few other
little things.

And I got mentioned in the on-line portion of Dunkelzhan's will,
receiving a small token of the Big D's appreciation. And according to
the "Lone Gunman" in his Shadowtalk comments regarding that, I am part
of powerful yet secret coven of mages. :)

If you can find it let me know. When they redid the web site a few
years back the page disappeared, much to my dismay. :) If anyone else
has it, please send it my way. I lost the copy I had saved when I had a
hard drive crash and I want to use it on my players.

It had been up there nearly a year before I even noticed it.
