Any engine mods that work for other vehicles should work for planes. Since
you have RBB, go for it. Most of todays Piston craft have superchargers, at
least if they are going very high, because the air is so thin. But that
doesn't mean thier powe can't be boosted! By the way, when modifing engines,
we use the engine cost/replacement chart as the base cost. That should keep
costs within reach (paying x pecent of the entire planes cost would really
hurt. This just stings).
