Your post brings up another point: Does anyone know a female hermetic mage?
Seems to me that every female mage is a shaman (I prefer them, too)?

How about a little shaman/mage hassle here?
bye,
Stefan

Check out the Former Wage Mage archetype.
(Also, the first time I played a mage, it was a female.)

Ok, it's my fault. The question was not clear enough.
Does anyone know a female PLAYER playing a male/female mage,
not a male player playing a female whatever.

Ah... no. Except in AD&D, but that doesn't count. (Almost all female
players I've played AD&D with play mages or thieves.)

As a matter of fact, I do. A friend of mine (female) plays an
illusion-oriented hermetic mage (female) who goes by the handle of
Chimera. Appropriate, neh?

Yes -- one of the two Hermetic mages in our group is female, and
is played by a female. This being a four-player group (sometimes, but
rarely, five), having two mages and now a physad has seriously increased
the number of magical obstacles we come across. Actually, the character
I'm playing has limited Astral sight (as described in the Germany
sourcebook; I can't remember how to spell the name), so _all_ of our group
is magically delicious!
I'd think it safe to say that we're a rarity.

We once made a group of three characters -- two mages and a physical adept.
