I've been modifying a couple vehicles I'm running in a current campaign
from Rigger 2 to Rigger 3 rules. The one thing I've run into that I can't
seem to find is the information regarding the firearm conversion kit, like
how much is it in addition to weapon cost, load increase, availability,
etc. Am I just missing it somewhere or did they leave it out.

Thanks

I noticed this too. There's a mention on what needs to be done on p. 136 of
R3. However, that's the requirements for modifying existing weapons, the
gear needed, and the time and skill required. I guess that you just have to
know somebody who can do it for you. OTOH, this makes it difficult to
determine costs for starting characters.

It's in Rigger 3, on page 136 in the left-hand column, but it doesn't seem
to have a cost anymore. All that's involved is rolling a test.

I have a quick question about this. Can you increase
a weapons ammo and by how much? Where can you find
this if it is written?

On p. 135 of R3, under the heading Ammunition Bins, you'll probably find all
that you need. In short, when you first place a weapon in a mount, it has
an ammo capacity equal to twice it's normal capacity. For every 0.2 CF you
allocate to ammo, you get LOTS more rounds (2000 for anything LMG sized or
smaller, 200 for anything machine gun sized, and 20 for anything BIG ARSED).

The only by the book (BTB) way of doing this is to use the firearms
construction rules in Cannon Companion. For a clip-fed weapon you'll want
the Extended Clip modification on page 81, while for all others (except
belt-fed weapons, of course) you'll have to totally rebuild the weapon to
incorporate the larger ammo capacity.

What this means is that you'll want to put only belt-fed weapons in
vehicles unless you have no other choice :) To see how much ammo these can
have available, read the Ammunition Bins section on page 135 of Rigger 3.
(Although I must add that whoever thought up those numbers hasn't thought
it through very well. 2000 rounds in 0.2 CF is too much -- at an estimate,
I'd say 5000 rounds per CF is a more realistic figure, but we're stuck with
these numbers :)
