I'm wondering if there are any flamethrowers in any official FASA material.
I have seen a few on various web pages and such but never in any fasa
product, dispite the fact that they have mentioned them (example: thing
about the halloweeners and their leader I think in the SR Companion, they
say he likes to torch people and show a picture of him with a
Flamethrower). I'm pretty sure there aren't but there are a fair amount of
books I don't have so if someone knows that the FASA stats are out here let
me know, otherwise please give me the URL of a site with a well made
substitute. THanks.

There's the spell Flamethrower. That gives you all the information
about game effects except what would be a proper strength of the mundane
flamethrower. I've never heard a consensus on what to use for that though.

Ancient cultures believed that names held great power, personal names
more so and they were guarded very closely. To protect themselves, they
answered to another name, because if another discovered their real name,
it could be used against them.

Yes, this is why the topic is (Not the Spell), but you do raise a good
point. I think the best way to run a flamethrower would be to decide
ammo(how many shots from 1 tank) and concealability(yeah right) and range
and then use the damage from the flamethrower spell with fire elemental
effect. Also probably use Shotgun spread table with a pre-set choke #.

The general attitude I've heard about flamethrowers is that they increase
the mortality rate WAY too much. (player and NPC alike)

And that's a bad thing?? *evil grin*

Sometimes it's really hard to scare players without nuking their
characters outright.

Flamethrowers usually scare the drek out of people, though.

Hmmm, and now for my next run...... watch me pull a flamethrower out of
this hat!

(I think the rest of my group are running right now)

I can agree with you on this one tho. It seems that It's kinda hard to
kill a Dragon without using his own medicine.

If a [player want to play a dragon, they should have to deal with the other
dragons... ie, Lofwyrm, etc...

If you can hide a Panther up your sleeve, you're REALLY abusing the
concealibility rules...:):):)

I actually didn't GM that run, the dumb fragger that did, of course,
didn't see any reason to limit the stupidity of the characters. I tried
to raise a stink about it, but my character got killed off before I had a
chance to say anything about it. Last time that GM is running my life.

What are the exact rules of concealibility? The only person that was
funky enough to have a panther cannon on him in public, was
automattically put in jail for having it. he got to meet bubba in jail.
That'll teach to carry oversized weapons!

Now, if only I could be declared the Official Pimp Ork, my life would be

Flamethrowers aren't all that accurate weapons, and they have very short
ranges. Get in the way of one, and yes, you can very well end up dead (or
wish you were, I think). Then again, walking around with a fuel tank on
your back isn't necessarily good for your health either :)

That's because just about everyone fears getting burned, even if there's
no reason for it. Granted, a flamethrower is something to fear, but I
remember that when we had to put out burning cotton wool with out bare
hands in a biology lab, a lot of people hesitated.

No... the flashing lights are not used anymore, and for last reports
from GPHQs they already use beta-type smartgun links.

Ahh yes... But who's running FOR the flamethrowers, eh? *grin* Certain
