Ya know, me and Johnny have been looking for a flamethrower for three years,
and haven't been able to get one... Mostly cause Tinner's been too lazy
tomake up stats on one...

I'd love to see some decent flamethrowers... If you could be so kind,
e-mail me the stsa, or post them if anyone else is interested...:)

Thanks...:)

But he doesn't have to make any up. they're available on the net, in
fact I think one is included in one of Gurth's netbooks.

I would, but.... It would require Tinner's permission, I wouldn't want
to supply you with something that would upset him. :) :)

The only thing you really *must* remember is that an HEAP round *will*
make an unpleasant mess of a flamethrower fuel tank, and consequently
the poor sap wearing it. :)

If you *really* want to loose your character, no problem, I'm sure
Tinner will let you have one of the Flamers i've got, and then shoot the
fraggin' thing at the first opportunity. It should have a similar
effect to a fuel air bomb (anyone seen outbreak??)

Neato :) :)

Heroes or Fools? That's a determination others will make in hindsight. But by
being here now, we make that determination for ourselves, and it's neither.

Sure, post them. I might be interested in tossing one or two into some NPC
hands. :o)

Ok here you go I got this off the net sometime back didn't care for the
original so i make some mod's. I can't even remember when I got this so to
who ever wrote the original no insult of challenge is being made so don't
start any little war

Ares "Prometheus" Assault Flame-thrower-------------------------------------
Type 'Shotgun'
Concealability 3
Ammo Tank
Mode SA/Continuous
Damage 10S
Weight 3.5
Availability 20/14 days
Cost 2,000
Street Index 3.0

Tanks 100 500 1000
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Concealability 2 -- --
Charges 100 500 1000
Weight 19 83 160
Availability 14/7 days 18/14 days 26/30 days
Cost 150 750 1500
Recharge 50 250 500
Street Index 1 .5 1.8 2.2

Special Rules: Base target number is 5, due to the fact that it visibly
draws its own 'straight line' to the target. All movement penalties,
however, are tripled, as leading/following a target is damned difficult with
such a thing. There is no recoil on the weapon, although a continuous
stream can be held on a target/hex from Full Action to Full Action. No
movement is possible besides a slow walk (1/2 Quickness). Anyone entering
the line/area of the blast is struck by one attack/initiative tick that they
stay in the stream. Use: 2 charges per range bracket + 1 per/initiative tick.

Ares "Brimstone" Flame-thrower Ammunition, per 10 shots
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Type SMG Availability 14/7 days
Concealability 5 Cost 150 Ammo
Mode SA Street Index 2.5
Damage 8S
Weight 2.5
Availability 18/14 days
Cost 1,850
Street Index 3.0

I'd kind of evision the first one as kind of reminscent of the one in
Aliens. The Brimstone probably is really realistics so take it with a grain
of salt.

If you have to ask then it's probably classified.
Which means that I have to follow protocol.
But if you ask nicley I might forget that you asked.
Then again maybe not.

There are a number of flamethrowers available on the web (Paolo's page has
at least one). If some stats I make up right here and now are sufficient,
try using these:

GENERIC FLAMETHROWER

Concealability: none whatsoever
Ammunition: 10 (fuel tank)
Mode: SS
Damage: 8S/8M
Weight: 15 kg
Availability: 14/21 days
Cost: 5,000Y
Street Index: 3

Game rules: use light pistol ranges for the flamethrower when using
unthickened fuel (like normal gasoline), and shotgun ranges for thickened
fuel.
To use the flamer, indicate a point of aim and roll for scatter as if a
grenade were thrown; scatter distance is 1D6 meters, and every success
the firer rolls reduces it by 1 meter. Anyone standing between the firer
and the point of impact must roll a Reaction (firer's skill) test to get
out of the way, or be hit by the stream of burning fuel. Anyone hit takes
8S damage in the first turn, and 8M every turn thereafter for 2D6 turns,
or until the fire is extinguished.

Well, I appreciate all the useful comments and items that were postedin
response to my request for Flamethrowers... Thanks to everyone who
replied... I'll talk these over with my GM and possibly incorporate them
into our game... After all, we do tend to go on a lot of "Bughunts"...:)
