I just went through the vehicle section of SR3 and I couldn't find the rules
on the influence of flux rating on signature for vehicles being sensed by
active sensors,
all I came up with was "The flux rating can be increased os decreased to
boost
the signal strength of a transmitter or decrease its electronic signature"
(SR3 p 137).
Now the rule I would use is that the signature rating indicated in the
vehicle characteristics
apply when no flux rating points are used and that when some are used (to
control a drone
for instance) every two points of flux remove one point of signature.

What do you think about that ?

Well, the signature is the heat given off by the vehicle, I believe.
In sensing flux, you take the lower rating: either the sensor or sensee, and
use that as the effective sensing range. Vehicles, unless modified have a
flux of 0.

Actually I would think that the characteristics of
flux rateing would not change the physical
characteristics of a vehicle. And that appears to me
at least to be what signature is based on. Heat
output. Size.. Noise. But I haven't read anything
to demonstrate that it has to do with the elextronics
in use on the said Vehicle. Otherwise Drones would
inherrantly be poor at stealth because radio
frequencies have to communicate with them.

Just my two cents.

Uhm, erm ... no????

My suggestion to anyone wanting some more grasp on the mechanics would be to
obtain and READ Rigger-2 in depth. Then, once that has tempted your taste
buds, and you feel like you are up for some really brave dives into
mechanics possibilities ... get the exact URL for Tzeentch's pages and
REALLY dive into technical mechanics.

I'm not sure, but I actually think the ONLY vehicles that would have a Flux
of "0", would be those vehicles of Bod-1 or below, presuming they haven't
been modified... and most of the time, the Sensor/Countermeasure Hardware
actually determines the Flux rating, NOT the vehicle (though the vehicle can
contribute). And lord only help if a Power Amp is involved.
