Could someone please give me the basics about frames in the matrix? I
don't have VR, and since it will be some time before VR 2nd comes out, I
don't have anything to referance to. The only thing I know about them
comes from the novels.

As I understand it, A frame is a programmed construct that can be used
independantly from the decker. But what I don't know is:
1. Is it run from within the decker's deck or on the matrix it self.
2. How does a decker program a frame.
3. What can a frame do and NOT do.
4. and What are the consequences of useing a frame while decking.
(ie. bonuses, disadvantages, +/- to target numbers. That kind of stuff.)

Thanks for taking the time to answer any of the above questions.

They're programs. Once you initiate them, they have no connection to your
deck, unless it is a dumb fram, which requires a control program (a smart
frame doesn't, and can act independently.)

Basically, they say 'I'm lumping these programs together into a frame. Oh,
yeah, and I'm adding this other stuff into it so it'll work.'

A frame, as I recall, can do anything a decker can, except use hacking pool
dice.

Absolutely zip, 'cept that you need to dedicate the memory to the frame.

Real Programmers never work 9 to 5. If any real programmers
are around at 9 am, it's because they were up all night.
