This looks promising for those of us who don't have access to the full
version of Adobe Acrobat. The "trial" gives you three free conversions,
then you have to pay a subscription fee. Has anyone here tried it
yet? Pricing seems reasonable as opposed to the cost of the full retail
product.

If you look for it, there is software for free on the net that will convert
to .pdf format (if you check say... tucows out, they have about 15-20
programs that will convert to .pdf from various file types)

If you have a Mac, you can get Print2PDF which will allow you to make a PDF
from *any* app with a print command. OS X will have PDF creation built into
the OS, so I imagine WinDOS won't be far behind.

Unfortunately, the logic that because x shows up on the MacOS, it will soon
show up on Win32 does not (necessarily) follow in this case.

The reason OSX will have such good support of PDF is that Apple is making
PDF is default image type (instead of PICT). For those that don't know what
a PICT is, it is a graphics format that plays as crucial a role in MacOS as
BMP plays in Win32. Apple is moving all of its graphics systems to Display
PostScript.

None of this is happening for Win32, as far as I know. So, if print to PDF
does come to Win32 soon, it will not be for the same reason it came to
MacOS. It might happen anyway (and, I think, actually that it is) but for
different reasons.
