I have a question, AGAIN. I ftp'd to teetot.acusd.edu and tried to get
some files off of there in the shadowrun directory. I found some files
that I wanted, but they had spaces between the names. how do I get those
files? example:

-rw-r--r-- 1 name 2343 Mar 16 17:34 Please help me

how would I get the file called "Please help me" from the site. I typed
"get Please help me" and it would say there is no file by that name.

I need help so please someone show me in the right direction.

thanks in advance.

If you are lucky with intervening networks, you can either "quote" or 'quote'
the name, or use Please\ help\ me. Another thing you can try is to use ftpmail
(send mail to ftpmail@*******.unc.edu, with mail saying:
open teetot.acusd.edu
cd /pub/Beelzebub/Role-Playing/Shadowrun
get Shadowrun\ 2\ Errata <-- try quoting it, and other things)

None of this works for me, and I can't convince Jerry Stratton (who manages
the ftp files there), that it really doesn't work from Australia. But if
you're in the states, one of these techniques should work for you.

I have had good results with:

mget Please*

(answer no to all files you don't want!)

I can't even get connected to teetot.acusd.edu , if I ftp to the site
all I get is
ftp>connect : connection refused
Is this because I am 'calling' from Europe, or is the site down?
Is there a way to get around this, if it is because of my location ?

I had this same problem. Use a mouse (or the keypad) to position the
cursor on the first letter of the file name. Hit F6. When I do this, the
computer says it's unable to resolve it because of something or other
and tells me to put an x on the line below the name where you want the
computer to begin looking for the name. Just follow the instructions.
The file transfer window will pop up with the first word of the file
name, in this case "Please". Just move the cursor after that and type in
the rest of the name. It works for me. Of course, if the methods related
by other people work for you, I suggest you use those. They're much
simpler than this.

I would like to thank everyone for the help on the FTP site. I was
finally able to get the files that I desired. If you want to know, the
only method that worked was using the quotes. I know this is wasted band
length, but since I already have the solution, I thought in the long run,
It would save band length letting everyone know I have the problem solved
so they don't themselves waste band length. so thanks again, I apreciated
the help.
