Greeting

Does anyone have any idea how much fuel weighs, or more importand how
much fuel can you shove into a CF.

Our group recently purchesed a Fiat Folkker (affectionatly known
currently as 'The Toad') for a mission into Amazonia, even after
shoving on 2 pairs of external fuel tanks, increasing the tank
capacity by the 25% etc, we where shocked to say the least that we
would still have to make 3 fuel stops while traveling from Seattle to
Amazonia, and in all likelyhood would still not have enough fuel to
enter the jungle, land, complete mission, and manage to get back to
the last fuel stop. Hence we placed in (ad hoc) long flight tanks
holding 25l costing 1 CF. Are there any rules (home made or
otherwise) about longrange fuel tanks etc?

Actually, you've gotten fairly close I think. Fuel + pumps, tanks etc would
probably averager out at 1kg/l. Therefore, your "rough" ferry tanks would
be about right.

Cheers.

Rule of Thumb: Everything that isn't rock or
metal has a density of 1kg/liter (the density of
water). This should be within about 10% (close
enough for gaming) for almost anything; people,
trees, gasoline, orange juice, suitcases of
laundry...

If you want to fudge it a little more, if it floats, it is
less than 1kg/liter, if it sinks, it is more. Most
things around will barely float or barely sink,
therefore their density is right around 1kg/liter.

This is by RBB, p. 112 and costs 1nY per liter.
What about the drop tanks from RBB p. 119? They cost 200nY per 100l
and can be mounted at hardpoints.
