Oh, without a doubt the encounter between Kray, Buffy (did I get the name
right Mike), Shamantir and Jen (poor little druid girl)...

Binder's living at the time in an apartment in Georgetown, part of the DC
sprawl. He's got a pet barghest named Kray (though don't call him a 'pet',
lest he chew your leg off ;). Shamantir is this strange spirit that follows
him around occasionally (chuckle). And Buffy, well, Buffy is the story...

There was this Snake shaman guy (later found he was part of the Black Lodge)
who lived downstairs and had a pet boa constrictor. The boa was fairly large,
but really resouceful at getting 'away' from it's master (who had a strange
habit of keeping the snake in a baby carriage for "walks in the park" (go
figure).

Well one day, Buffy got loose in the building complex again, and everyone knew
about this as the shaman was really fairly obvious about it (he'd go walking
around the place calling out "Buffy, here Buffy..." (sigh).

Now, Jen, Binder and all their friends had recently relocated to the DC and
Maryland vicinity in general, so Jen came by to bring Binder a "house warming
present." She of course sees the shaman going about doing his "Buffy
calls"
and ignores it (Binder had neglected to mention this problem to his friends).
She makes it all the way upstairs and rings the bell.

Now Binder is in the shower, she's a bit early, so the stage is set for what
happened next. Jen heard the "Buffy, here Buffy" from behind her, didn't
really look, chuckled, stayed put...

The next thing that happens is the door flings open, there Shamantir
(currently manifesting as a "1' Domovoi complete with Lion Tamer's Chair and
Whip (all scale of course)." leaping out the door, yelling, BACK! BACK!!! Jen
whirls to see what's happening...and comes face to face with 'Buffy', the 12'
foot long Mimic Snake that once again has gotten loose...

The snake turns to look at the "tamer", Kray pokes his head out the door and
growls, Binder heard the door open, is standing there in a towel, grabbing Jen
and yanking her into the apartment, yelling at the Barghest and the
"birdbrain" to back off. When Shamantir turns around, stating "I've got
things under control, you go, I'll save us.." the snake scarfs him up in a
single gulp...

Kray starts barking (he likes the bird, it's normal form is a fairly large
Raven) and ultimately "Howls" (yep, this is where things get
interesting)...the Snake's mouth opens...it "Mimics" the howl (sigh), but
there is Shamantir, now appearing like a "1' Domovoi complete with bulging
muscles 'holding open' the mouth of the snake, waving 'fly be free', as
literally scores of miniature birds, butterflies, dogs, snakes, former
presidents, etcetera...come leaping from poor Buffy's mouth (illusions of
course).

The whole complex is in an uproar in less than 10 seconds...it took over an
hour to get everyone to calm down...the Shaman comes up and collects his
'friend', who is just being his normally curious and mischevious
self...everyone goes their seperate ways...and this process repeats itself a
number of times...it seems the snake and the dog would have "shouting matches"
occasionally in the middle of the night...

Mike and I had fun with it, poor Jon (who played Jen) didn't know what to
think, and Kray and Shamantir had obviously loved every minute of it too...

> Dust

Sure thing Dust...hope you, and everyone else, liked this...
-K (yes, this is an 'average day' in Binder's life btw)
