No, but if you are desperatly looking, you might come over here - we can use
one more player. We play every two weeks, if you just fly over to Europe...

I guess now it's my turn.
Are there any GM's in the Portland, Oregon/Vancouver, Washington
area? I moved here about a year ago and haven't found a
group of Shadowrunners yet.

Hehe. Thanks, that would be great. Maybe we can arrange something via E-mail
in your game? Or IRC? Although, that would be kinda hard with the time
difference and all...

I dunno, but there are at least three people on this list who *claim* to
be from Seattle. Probably hiding in the shadows. <G>

Well... with most people playing at night, I think a time difference of 8
to 10 hours wouldn't be all that hard on you -- you'd just be sitting
there behind a computer during the afternoon, while to Sascha and the
rest of us Europeans, it's the middle of the night :)

Hey Skye & Lynn -- Portland and Seattle are only 4 hours apart (if you drive
the speed limit and stop and McD's). Maybe you can get
together? I'd be interested -- I'm a little south of PDX -- and my GM is
abroad for the next few months (probably plotting ways to make our lives
miserable when he gets back...)

Big hello and greatings from germany/hannover to our famous place seattle.
Here is just one simple question in hannover: Is the sorcebook like the
"real" seattle or is it just a big bobble from fasa.
chummers from seattle and other people all over the world tell us how is
seattle.

we hope to get some good information here in germany

I lived in the Seattle/Tacoma area during my formative years and I find
quite a bit similar (allowing for the 60 or so passing years). I also
had a grandfather that was a retired Colonel and was able to visit Fort
Lewis on a number of occasions. I've gotten ahold of a map and pasted in
representations of Aztechnology and the Renraku Arcology and it pretty
much matches up with the descriptions and nuances FASA mentions.

A buddy of Me and Tinner went to seattle for a few days last spring and
brought back a Japanese Tourist Map of Seattle... It seemed appropriate for
Shadowrun, somehow...:)

Cool idea!

I like the fact that growing up in the area gives me ideas on some of
the locales and neighborhoods. I lived on 46th and Pacific, busiest
intersection in Tacoma at the time. I went to grade school in Puyallop.
I know the areas of Pike Street Market, the Space Needle, been through
the SeaTac Airport, and so on. It makes the gaming scene easier to
picture than when the group is in say New York, London, Berlin and such.

But then I guess the turn around would be the same for the rest of you,
neh?

I photocopied the maps from the Seattle Sourcebook and stuck them all
together on a sheet of paper. They fit most of the time, but several
places don't. Also beware that the actual Seattle/Downtown area is much
too large compared to the rest -- I had to copy it at about 86% for it to
fit the rest.

Uh... yes. It's a pretty accurate Seattle, but, as you may imagine,
it's been upgraded a little, so don't expect Puyallup to be a slum, or to
find the Renraku Arcology anywhere here. Sort of like if someone in the
30's drew up a map and gazetteer of New York that had an office building
where Ebbetts Field was.

Well, it's a big city (~1,000,000 people) like any other, but we have one
of the world's lowest violent crime rates (besides Singapore, that is).
Of course, we do have the highest suicide rate in the world. It's a
do-it-yourself kind of town. :)

Tell me about it. The only problem with our group is that while we start
in Seattle, we rarely stay there, and Bill usually has us going to places
like, say,.... Cheyenne. (in-joke :)

HEY! That was NOT the GM's fault. Just because I set up hideous
