OK, listen up every german player on the List. I just came back from work,
so I couldn't post that earlier, but I do think maybe it is interesting for
the germans here.
FanPro has released a German limited edition of the SR3rd. It is a red
hardback and I truly hope that the friend that told me that today, will
fetch me one (otherwise his character will suffer endlessly in our
Gangcampaign :o() ). It goes for 89,- DM and I REALY DO NOT KNOW HOW LONG
THIS THING WILL BE AVAILABLE!!! So better hurry, call some friends near
Essen, take a leave from work or whatever you might came up with and try to
get that book. It is fully possible that the limeted edition is already
sold out, but maybe you would think it is worth a try.
That's it, just a final note. FanPro did NOT tell the shopowners here in
germany (at least not us) that this was going to happen, it took me by
surprise today. Thank you FanPro.

According to Steadfast, at 21:09 on 22 Oct 98, the word on the street
was...

I was there yesterday (Thursday), and it's black with a red SR "S" logo on
the front, not completely red. (For those who own or have seen a BABY, it
looks much the same but with red foil instead of blue.)

(Oh, and of course, I didn't check my mail for about 36 hours due to being
away all day yesterday, and the list traffic increased dramatically.
Typical... :)

It costs 98 DM, I believe. Someone from FanPro said 200 had been printed,
and apparently they were selling pretty well.

The main SR3 book in German is a hardcover, from what I saw, selling for
69 DM IIRC. I was almost tempted to buy one just for my collection, but
decided I could spend that money better on something else.

In further news, I talked to Mike Mulvihill at Das Spiel, and I have some
updates concerning upcoming SR products.

First, the GM screen/critter book. This is finished and should be
available Real Soon Now. The GM screen itself was at the printers (Mike
had with him a 2nd edition screen with the inside of the 3rd edition
paperclipped to it), while the critters book is completely done and
printed already. I got a look through it, and it appearss good to me --
basically, it sits in the middle between the critter list of Predator &
Prey, and the full critter descriptions in the Paranormal Animals books.
First is a list of all the critter powers, and then the rest of the book
has short descriptions and stats for the critters themselves. Scattered
through the book are illustrations "salvaged" from the Paranormal Animals
books, though most critters have no illustrations at all.

Renraku Arcology: Shutdown still needed one piece of art when Mike left
for Europe about 1 1/2 weeks ago, and apparently it's one worth waiting
for (I know what it is, but don't think I can tell). Once that's in, the
book can go to the printers as well, so this is a matter of only a few
weeks before it's in stores as well.

The other SR books due to come out (MITS, Man & Machine, etc.) are still
on much the same schedule as before. Playtest findings from MITS were in,
so it's to be completed over the next few months.

Shadowrun: Assassin has a release date of 2 June 1999, which Mike takes to
mean it's going to be a summer release and that in turn means "autumn" to
him. I'd say expect to wait another year for the game to be out.

[semi-OT] I also got to play Crimson Skies with Bryan Nystul and two other
players, though without the big models they had at GenCon. Still, it looks
like it's going to be a rather cool game. It will have die-cut "models" of
aircraft, and for those who know the old Renegade Legion line, the game
uses much the same damage resolution system. (In the first turn, my right
wing got sheared off clean by G forces after a failed maneuver :( )

[more OT] If you think GenCon is a large convention, take a look at this
one. Sure, it's not so much RP/cardgaming/etc. but I walked through three
or four halls each more or less the size of the trade hall at GenCon
before I reached one that had mainly RP stuff in it...! And nearly all
this was trade -- game publishers and stores, plus some associated
stuff...

Thanks for the correction, I have forgotten to point out that this
Information was second hand only. I'll have to talk with that friend.
Appologise for the wrong price and colour statements goes from here to the
list.

Hmm...not to deprive our German friends of a personal copy, but if someone
should come across a spare....

I'd definitely be interested.
