Labaryth had nothing to do with gaming (except neat fantasy
creatures). I think the movie was Mazes and Monsters.
*gak* I haven't seen it (nor do I ever really want to)
but I can remember the smear campaign it launched. Sixty
Minutes (that oh so wonderful show....*note sarcasm*) did
a piece on how AD&D was wrong, corrupting, and caused people
to suicide. They had a few clips of people playing, showed some
of the worst art work, had reinactments of a couple stories where
kids supposedly committed suicide from playing, and denouced the
whole thing. *sigh* I remember because my mother, at the time, took
60 Minutes as gospel. I'll also say that Dragon Magazine almost yearly
publishes an editorial refuting anyone's claims about suicide/satanism/etc...
Its nice to have a thinking head on ones shoulders today.
