Just to get some chatter on the list, what setting do you have your
adventures in?

My gamers are set in the CAS, based out of Dallas/Fort Worth. They've been
mainly in the sprawl, but might be heading out of town to a nearby area.
We're in New Orleans now, on a vacation (that means load the gel rounds).

So, where do you run?

Seattle, for the most part. They've made a few runs across North America,
and ended up in Chicago for a few months, but for the most part
everything's set in Seattle. I'm a bit low on ideas at the moment, so
maybe I should just kill all the characters and start over again... :)

I am informed the subscribers list crashed, probably why its been so
quiet, though i've only been back a few hours i'm getting more NERPS
mail than Shadowrn, usually the ratios nearer 100:1 the other way!

I usually base things in Seattle, though one game ran for a few
months in Denver.
PC's have been known to get about one group got to Tishisam (whatever
see NAN2) Chicago twice (once before the bugs, once after) both times
followed by New York. The latter trip became a tour, to Berlin (two
Months, Harz mountains (also Germay), Paris, London, Southampton,
Oxford, that took a while. They also once when to Denver and spent a
short time in Atzlan and can count the Metaplanes twice (once with
Harlequin :) ). But that lot took a couple of years. For interest
both the 'grand sightseeing tour' as i called it and HB took about 3
months of approx 3 hours a week sessions to run, the top HB karma
awards were approx 80 - 95 (some folks that made a mess got a lot
less) while the home written run came in about half of that which was
a lot but a more reasonable award rate.

I note that generally players like staying within Seattle, mostly
because as soon as you have boarders to cross life gets a lot more
like hard work. Mostly because you cannot just fling the guns in the
car boot out of sight anymore and passport control always asks for
ID, the local copper probably has something more important to do than
hassle joe blogs on the off chance he has no ID (especially as if he
gets the big prize, shadowrunner hes probably in bigger trouble than
the runner unless he has friends real handy). Yes you can get around
boarders, (the Denver sector to sector tunnel was popular till the
charge was find person no problem / person abducted by UB, big
problem :) ), riggers always help, Aztlan by chopper, do the deck!
and note the tensions on the boarder are so high that if the country
you are leaving is in pursuit the one you arrive in is probably more
interested in watching for airspace violations than following the
fast disappearing new arrivals, ah don't armies make super cover.

The PCs in my game spent the first three years in Seattle. I've recently
moved them to Denver and they are working for Lone Star. I know I can come
up with plenty of stuff in Denver to keep their paranoid little minds
occupied for a long time. And, I actually live in Denver so I know all the
landmarks. (Before we pretty much visualized Seattle as being like the city
in Bladerunner, with no real knowledge of what it looked like.)

We started our game in Germany, Hamburg. The group run for the UCAS
after a run (one of our GMs made a real Nightmare out of Bottled Demon
that took about 10 (!) madening sessions) and stayed there (and don't you
mention pizzas to 'em!). Slowly "natives" come to the group that's
actually a loose connection of runners with a widespread network of
connections.

Currently we have one group running in Seattle (going to Denver soon) and
one in Duisburg (Rhein-Ruhr-Plex). Some time ago we had a campaign
running in Giessen, my home town. The last adventure there took us all
around the world: Aztlan, Japan, England, Italy, Greece, a small island
in the pacific, to name a few. Of cause, the group consited mostly of
'legal' characters with a SIN, so traveling was not such a problem.

My players run anywhere they go the cred to travel. I usually start 'em
out somewhere small. Usually somewhere in UTE country, but they almost
always end up traveling to Seattle on there own. Right now 1/3 of my
group is in Seattle (various runs), 1/3 in Utah (great salt flats,
building an underground chamber), 1/3 in NY, NY (hunting down a idiot
savant who's good with electronics). CAN YOU SAY CONFUSING AND LONG
PLAY TIME BOYS AND GIRLS?? Sure ya can! If ya want I can explain their
recent antics and why they are where they are, but I won't on the list.

So what's Cyber-pizza in the 2050es? :) I really would like to
set an adventure here in Torino, but I guess all my characters
would start laughing when you describe how the park where we go
eating after lesson has been trasformed into a 2000-story arcology
and our favourite brauerei decame a slam-dance-techno-hip-hop
hangout :)
Does any of the sourcebooks (apart form paranormals of europe)
name the politiucal situation here in Spaghetti country? :)

Well, my players used to run Seattle, but they're currently
employed by the fictional island of San Julepo in the Kuddiune
Islands as military advisors. San Julepo is a volcanic island,
much like the rest of the Kuddiunes, and a dictatorship (albeit
with no iron fist ruler). It is a good place to stage medium to
big battles and mil ops becuse it is so rich (they grow a
fictional plant called "karamba", used by the military
worldwide to produce drugs), and therefore has a big army with
tanks and stuff. The game consists of diplomacy, and battles
resolved by using FOD (Fields Of Destruction), a tabletop game
that I invented and I could send in its semi-final form to
anyone that asked it (when the semi-final form is finished that
is...). The setting is deeply ironic and "light" as I had
promised my players something more humorous after one of them
said that perhaps "Clinical descriptions of disembowelments and
rapes add to the atmosphere, but erm... actually they're
a little too much for my stomach..." In fact it was a
cthulhu-cyberpunk crossover with a lot of gratuitous blood and
many unanswered questions :)

According to SR2, I believe Italy was split up into countless city-states,
like the south of France and the Balkans. Pick your favorite form of chaos
and run with it. "Hey, who are we fighting this week?" "The
Borriachios."
"Naw, that was last week. We're invading that dictatorship Pisa this week."
"Dictatorship? They were a democracy two weeks ago." "Some guy named
Garibaldi managed a coup."
