Yes it is, although I have to drive at least two hours
to find the nearest place that still sells it.

Actually I quite like a bottle of Chianti or any other smooth full bodied red-
wine. Wine is useful for gaming sessions as it doesn't matter how warm it gets.
For serious drinking though break out the real ale which means going down to
the local pub. I'd suggest Old Peculiar, XB, No.3, 80 bob and Owd Rodger. If
you want to drink beer at home then Newcastle Brown, Directors and Exort are
all worth a mention but they suffer from the fact that you have to stick them
in the fridge and have to keep getting up when you've done with one can/bottle
<some of us are truly lazy :) >.

As to that most popular of American beers Budweiser well I have to admit to
never having tried any, though my girlfriend who has informs me that it's
rather like a pale ale. Ie a wierd cross between lager and proper real ale.

I had some Sam Adams. The first bottle was good, but the next few were a
bit bitter. I'll stick with Killian's. It's less expensive and better.

We used to swear by JOLT, but then we got into experimenting with
finding ways of distilling and concentrating it. Our final product
had two forms - a honey-like liquid and for the especially daring a
hardened tar-like plug. These experiments turned out badly with some
uncomfortable physiological repercussions.

We say "No" to JOLT now.

The object isn't to get blasted it is to relax....get into
character..role play little..sometimes a beer or three is just the thing
to help relieve some of the tension built up between sessions...

Besides when you only get 4 or 5 hours tops per gaming session there
isn't much worry about falling asleep....THAT is what being married will
do for ya...

To toss in my two bits on this drinking discussion (before Rob puts a stop to
it)...

If you ever have the chance to try an American beer (like Budweiser or
something), don't. A Bud is not like a pale ale. It is water with a little bit
of flavoring. At least, this is true for most of the big commercial breweries
in the states - Bud, Coors, etc...

Now, if you want to try a good American beer, I suggest Sam Adams. It is our
Wednesday night drink of choice. Wed. nights, me and my friends in the "Hat
Squad" go to a place in downtown Troy called the Rolls Touring Company, listen
to good music (a guitar player named Roy Atkinson), and drink Sam Adams (among
other things).

If you come and visit, we'll have to share a Moose River Hummer - not a beer,
but it is the Rolls' specialty drink. Not made anywhere else.

It contains six or seven different liquors (grenadine, triple sec, vodka, a
couple others that I forget) and the secret ingredient - "Moose Juice". You
drink it in shots and get a pitcher of it for $14. Really good way to start
off an evening at the Rolls...

*sigh* I can't wait until NEXT Wednesday... *grin*

Trust me, getting into character is helped by caffeine too. Of course,
it's even better if you're the Street Sam.

And when those role-playing sessions are late night...trust me. Drink
something to keep you awake.

Ok, Egil, not knowing JOLT is one thing (I didn't say excusable...) but
you don't know what DEW is?????
*********THWAP*********
ok, had to get that out of my system.
Now, on the subject, JOLT is divinely-inspired. It is a working of the
lord's will. As such, it is often misunderstood by common mortals. They
fear it, and therefore ban it (don't even get me started on Nitro). Find-
ing it is like discovering the Holy Grail, only much more rewarding. This
past weekend, a friend and I searched high and low through 7-Elevens, WaWa's,
and Qwikki-Marts of any and all types in an attempt to find the elixer of
immortality. Alas, Friday eve found us Joltless. Saturday we ventured forth
into the jungle with a film crew to shoot my master film epic based upon
Apocalypse Now, and the end of the day was drawing near. Needless to say,
Jolt was needed. We continued the search and, several hours later, came
upon the holy fountain which flowed. Around midnight we eached chugged about
30-40oz. of the divine liquid (Pez with Jolt chasers---wow! The colors! the
colors!). By 3am, we needed to watch a movie (alas, Highlander, the series,
was a rerun, and a bad one at that), but nothing too deep. Finally, TOP GUN
was put on. Ahhhhh......
Anyway, just want to second the votes that JOLT is the choice of gamers about
the world, and a better rush of psychadelic imagery cannot be found. I've run
many a campaign on the liquid, and, well...inspiration is the key. Nuff said.
