Got a question for those in the know. I'm a relatively new gamer. (about 7
years now) So I missed out on a lot of the old-school things. One of those
things that I missed out on was gaming mags. There were a couple for D&D and
I think there even used to be one for Shadowrun. Is there any talk of putting
out a magazine for Shadowrun now that it's changed hands? I would be very
interested in something like this if it were so, as I'm always looking for
any kind of material I can use as a GM and even as a player.

Also, has anyone experimented with the translated rules for using Psionics in
Shadowrun, and if so how are they for game balance? I seem to recall Steve
Kenson had them posted on his web site and probably still does, but haven't
had a chance to try them out yet and wanted to know if anybody could share
their experience with them with me.

Ok, yes there was a Shadowrun magazine (Ka-ge, IIRC) but it wasn't available
at the newstands. Only lasted about half a year too. If you want new
material, I suggest the forums or The Shadowrun Supplemental located @
www.dumpshock.com . Gurth's Plastic Warriors' page also has good resources
as does Bull's Place. We also can't forget the Paolo's Archives or
Blackjack's page.

As for Psionics, it states in MitS (Magic in the Shadows) that magic is
widly accepted now, as opposed to "mircales" and "psionics". There
are
still some psionics, but they are on the fringe of a fringe group (magic
users in general make up about 1% of the world. Though that's debatable).

According to KiltedJamesman@***.com, on Monday 24 March 2003 03:00 the word
on the street was...

There have been two: first, in the early '90s, was Ka*Ge (pronounced "caw
gay" according to the magazine itself, and apparently meaning "shadow" in
Japanese). This was fairly professionally-produced, and it's probably the
first place where people like Steven Kenson started writing for SR.
However, after a few years it seems the people making it fled the country
with whatever money was left.

In the late '90s there was Shadowland, which ran to seven issues. About the
only professional-looking thing about it was the cover; inside it looked
like your average fanzine, created by someone with poor editing and even
worse layout skills. This was not helped by many of the articles being
typical fan-written ones...
