Gary :-

Any particular gun?

Simply :-
SS weapon 1 shot per Phase (ie. for supreessive with a panther ;-))
SA 2 shots per phase (1 per Simple)
BF 6 shots per phase (2 3-round bursts per simple action)
AF 10 rounds per phase
Miniguns/HV weapons 15 rounds per phase

NB. I use Per Phase, becuase you can always go suppressive with a
semi-auto weapon (watch reservoir dogs, etc) even though it's not
_too_ effective

Oh yeah, and some Rotary cannons get 5 or 3 rounds per phase,
and Savalette's and the like get 3 rounds per phase.

It's in the combat section somewhere, but I know it (probably),
so if you have a specific question....

No just guns like UZI III or AK97 et...

is it possible to put a reactive trigger in these guns...
including a Panther (*currently I said a panther can't
physically shoot that fast)
But pistols like SuperMach 10M is SS

In some of the guns it specifically states how many it shoots
i.e. supermach BF = 6 shots... another gun i've seen 15/round

How about Light MGs (same 10rds) I'm guessing

That sounds reasonable. The strain on the flesh of the person firing such a
weapon on BF/FA should be quite dangerous, even for mister metal troll.

Correct me if I'm wrong but I think the reactive trigger (as well as
extended clips and a few other things) were banned in the second edition of
SR. All guns now automatically come with reactive triggers, and extended
clips, but this does NOT change the ROF of a Panther. (Note: I never played
the first edition of SR)

Well, the Vindicator fires 15 rounds per pull of the trigger no matter
what...

>How about Light MGs (same 10rds) I'm guessing

Correct. The 15/phase ROF is limited to minigun-class weapons.(Does NOT
include the Valiant etc. With only a single barrel, I guess it gets too
hot.)

Panther cannons should definitely not get reactive triggers,
those things are useful for blowing up light tanks and
doors, not for use in fire-fights (18D, I can get the same
damage from an assault rifle thanks, and split the damage
between several people)

The rotary (minigun) versioj of a panther assault cannon
can only fire 5 rounds per Complex action/phase, so I
think it's safe to assume that you physically can't
get them to cycle fast enough to fire more than one per round.
After all, a minigun (6000 RPM) is something like 6-10 times
as fast as most other automatic firearms (600-1000 cyclic
rate of fire).

Reactive Trigger's were taken out of the 2nd edition, but
were assumed to have been built in to _most_ firearms.

Personally, I still use the older, short clips, in some
cases they're much easier to get through MAD scanners and
chem-sniffers.

LMG's are 10 rounds per phase max, but some can also
do burst fire (3 per burst), and semi-atuo (1 per pull
of the trigger, 1 per simple action).

The Supermach and Ares HV-*** are special cases that do
6 rounds per burst, and up to 15 rounds for fully auto fire,
due to their three rotating barrels (half a minigun).

Well, bwana, us Army boys used L1A1 SLRs for suppressive fire for about
forty years, and Lee-Enfields before that... Accuracy counts more than volume
above a certain minimum. You can fire as much as you like at me: if I think
it's all going into the ceiling, I'll risk a shot. If there's a steady aimed
fire coming down on the area I need to lean into to shoot back, then
I think I'll retreat for a more favourable situation.

Suppressive fire is basically damned near impossible to do realistically
under any rules set: more than anything else it's morale and luck.
