Just one question: is it really necessary to do this a year in advance? In
11 months' time, 3/4 of the people on this GenCon list will have run out
of money, found some more, changed their minds, changed it back again, and
then run out once more so they won't be able to make it after all.

Not to mention it makes me want to go (just like every year when you lot
start talking about GenCon) and I know already that I can't...

It's not necessarily a bad thing. It'll serve as a reminder to those of us
who are absent-minded(such as me), and it also enables us to plan events well
ahead of time, so that there's no confusion and last minute scrambling and
"Let's have a List Party!" threads starting two days before the con. I know
it'll probably happen anyway, but one can always hope... =)

Unless, of course, someone wins the lottery. =)

I really would like to try and plan ahead this time around... I had a
blast last year, but got to spend little or no time with some of the list
members, as we just ran into each other at the seminars or the tourney...

I really liked staying at UWM. it had plenty of space, was cheap, and
isn't all that far from teh convention center. And this year it was one of
the few places taht didn;t sell out months in advance... Maybe we could
make it the "semi-official" list headquarters...? :] If, of course, it's
still available next year...;] <grin>

Anyways, we';ll worry about this in closer to the time, but... if TSR and
WOTC is on the ball this year, they usually have the prereg books out in
like February, so that should give us lots of time to start planning...;]

Go ahead and add my name to the list, but I am unsure at this point
whether I will be able to go then. I am currently making plans to go,
but alot can happen in 11 months...
