I talked to some of WotC's people this weekend and while they can't
(or Won't) say anything about TSR until the deal has gone through,
they did indicate that there is a chance that Gen Con will not happen
this year.

Apparently this has nothing to do with the WotC/TSR deal but is due
to TSR's financial position in general and that they apparently still
owe money from last year's event. If anyone else has heard anything,
let us know.

I had checked the TSR home page a month or so back, and it said GenCon was
still on, as usual.. Gamersworld magazine (www.gamersworld.com, I think)
also said it was still a go.. I hope so, I'm supposed to be going this year..
I would assume that if GenCon had been cancelled, it should have been
announced already. I'll check the web page later today.

Has anyone received their program/book for Gen Con yet? They're
usually out by now and I haven't seen mine yet.

They're probably sitting in the same place as the issues of Dragon magazine
from November on... SItting at the printers waiting to get paid for...

I don't know about GenCon itself but the Euro version is probably ok.
They are having to wait according to my information for the TSR WoC
deal to go through and predicted information on EuroGenCon would be
out about the middle of May. It need not follow but i would guess the
American event would be suffering from the same syndrome.

WotC isn't saying anything about TSR at all until the deal is done
and approved by the FTC. The timing is going to make it hard to
do it, though.
