Hello all. I return from the land of nomail for a while to talk about
what all happened at Gencon. Im sure other people will be able to tell
you a lot more than i can since they taped the important parts of the con
and i was going through sleep deprevation:) but heres what i remember.
excuse the incoherence im still punchy even after 10 hours of sleep:).

First though we didnt have an official List.Party planned we managed to
meet at the FASA seminars and the Shadowrun tourny. It was a blast
meeting you all in the meat and put faces with the handles we all know and
love. A couple of us eneded up staying near each other at UWM an i would
recomend we all try to stay there next year. Its cheep(18 dollars a night
per person for a 5 person 3 room suite), nice and uncrowded(no 5 people in
one room deals, you each get your own bed), about 15 minutes from the Con,
and has great central lounges on each floor to have the list.party in at
night:). The other sugestion ive heard is for us to run an Event or
seminar as a list.event so we get a room and timeslot at the Con.

The Whats up with FASA Seminar on Thursday was great with standing room
only. They gave us the smallest conference room in the con and we could
only get about 2/3 of the people inside the room even standing. Ill leave
out a list of whats comming up since that has been already covered by
people. The Shadowrun Q&A on Sunday was in a larger room that was still
packed though not out the doror:). Mike basicaly tried his best on all
the magic questions but said most of the problems brought up will be
answered in the redefining of the basis of how magic works in SR3. He
spent about 20 min or so talking about how the RBB2 rules work and whats
all in it. He had a xerox copy of the he text layout with him and could
look up our questions directly:). It is suposed to have a lot more on
drones and security rigging, a constrction system based off of
templetes(ie your basic van or car or limo or bike ect and the HUGE list
of mods you can make), a chapter on new technoligy and weapons ect hes
calling New Toys(including the cranial remote deck:)), a large chapter on
combat with vehicles and drones, chapter on magic and vehicles. And of
course the 30 page list of all the vehicles in all the books from
shadowrun.

On Sat night i got to sit in and watch the Net.Tem play in the Shadowrun
Tourny finals. The tourny took the form of a cross country road race with
pregenerated characters that were definatly not your standard starting
PCs. They got off to a bit of a rocky start with everyone tired and the
DVixen's meds wearing off so she had a headache but they soon got into the
swing of things. The team came up with character quotes from the previous
sessions for the signes each had infront of them with player and charecter
names. The team was Dvixen (Qvick, rigger,"what do you mean its comming
toward us?!"), Mike (ThinkTank,EWO,"How would you like that GMC?med or
well done?"), Loki (Crapgame, munchie sammy,"Why are you callin me Bitch
like its an insult?"), Bull (R.C. , Rigger, "Crapgame you BITCH!"), Garic
(Peirce de la Crox, darf mage, "shut up and watch the dirt"), and finaly
Buck (Aristotal Valentyn, Physsad, I want to kill it before its dead") I
thought that they played vary well together specialy for a group that
never had actualy seen eachother before the tourniment. I was very
impresed with how they handled things and had fun watching them
Unforntualty they lost tin a close finals to the winners from last year a
group that games together on a regular basis(they also won the EarthDawn
Tourny).

I know that i have more to say but im fallin asleep at the keyboard so
talk to you all later when im somwhat coherent.:)

Well, I didn't encounter a fat man with a cigar dressed as Sailor Moon,
so ... pretty damn good.

Seriously, it was pretty sweet apart from the Colts - Jets game which
brought a bunch of obnoxious funny looking, funny dressed people into our
mist ...never was much of a fan of basketball... (I heard a cat chick got
her tail ripped off by one then ne'erdowells)\

As fo the Con itself, better than last year, despite the fact that it was
tinted by the fact that I had a considerably smaller budget than last
year. :)

One would hope the basketball thing is a joke.

Knowing him, porbably not ;)

Anyways, quickie con report from teh What's Up with FanPro seminar:

Mr Johnson's Little Black Book was at Gen Con. Looks sweet so far. SOTA
2064 was supposed to be there but shipped a day late from the printers and
missed it. Both should hit stores within a month.

Running Wild (critters) and Loose Alliances (Organizations) are next on the
agenda, are written, but need to go through editing, art, and layout.

After those, Shadows of Asia and Shadows of Latin America are slated.

Then Critical Error and System Failure, two metaplot related books that ROb
has been real secretive about.

Uhm ... yes, sorta. When I first saw the Colts fans storming towards the
game, I did think it was a basketball game ... so yes and no. What can I
say, I don't like hockey either...

On the upside, I hear the Jets and their fans couldn't book tickets into
indianopolis because of GenCon :)
