year.
Basically, the deal is this:
You would need to run 16 hours of Shadowrun Demo's, one Shots, and
Tournament Rounds over the 4 day weekend.
Demo's include both 2 hour brief intro games as well as 4 hour in depth
intro games. These generally use the Sample Characters from SR3 and are
half "this is the world of shadowrun" and half "Here's a quickie example of
combat so you can see how the rules work". Each GM is responsible for
coming up with the scenario for these, but generally it's easiest to do a
simple variation of Food Fight (Or my favorite, Bar Fight), or even a real
simple and quick "Steal the Prototype" run.
One Shots are 4 hour games for experienced players. GMs are responsible
for coming up with a full blown game and 6 characters to use in said
game. For this comvention, we already have "blurbs" in the reg book, so
you'll work within the confines of the blurb (WHich often leave a lot of
room to manuever :)).
Tourney rounds are a competition game. Rounds are scored and written up in
detail. GMs for Tourney will get more details about scoring and running
them later.
In exchange for this, you get:
1) Free 4-Day gamemaster badge for Gen Con
2) Swag. Usually a copy of the newest SR book, but you can usually pick
out any other book you might need. You also get a Shadowrun T-Shirt.
3) Hotel Compensation if you stay in the GM hotel rooms. FanPro provides
the GM crew with a stipend that is placed toward the hotel room costs. It
doesn't pay for the full room, but usually covers a large chunk of the room
costs.
Plus you get to meet, hang out with, and gennerly see and be seen with the
movers and shakers for Shadowrun :] Not sure if that's actually a bonus or
not, but hey...
Oh, and if you're good, I'll introduce you to Adam Jury's sister, Ada :]
If you're interested, contact Brett Roberts at
shadowrunningcow@***.com. We need a few good GMs, and you could be one of
them!
