OK Ladies and Gents. Some of you may be wondering, with the turmoil in the
Shadowrun "World", what's going on this year at the Conventions regarding
the Tournament and other games. Or maybe you don't care :] But I'm
planning on filling you in some anyways.

I don't have event times and such, and we're a bit late this year due to
the circumstances going on with FASA, WizKids, and FanPro, but there WILL
be events running at Gen Con. However, Origins will not see any sponsored
SR Events this year. :/

There are a bunch of events listed in the Pre-Reg book for Origins. These
are no longer being held (We finally get stuff in and right, and no game
:/). The Pre-Reg book for GC I don't have yet, but I've heard that the
tournament is mentioned, but there are no FASA sponsored events listed. I
suppose this makes my job a bit easier since there will be less confusion
between what isn't being run any longer and what is.

The new events will hopefully be up on the Online Reg book at some point,
and will be in the On Site reg book.

We are running a single 12 team NON-Elimination tournament this year (This
means all teams play all three rounds). The title of the Tournament is
"The Shadow of the Comet" (I may have a new teaser up in the next month or
so :)).

Besides the Tournament we will also be running a number of One-Shot games
(4 hour games designed for experienced players) as well as numerous
introductory games. So there are plenty of Shadowrun activities going on
during the convention.

There also will be a What's Up With Shadowrun? seminar event being held by
Rob Boyle, the new DLOH. (Would Mike be the Dark Overlord now?)

So sign up when you can, plan to play some Shadowrun, plan to help with
some CardHalla building, and we'll see ya there! :]

<snipt a lot>

Kickin'! My next obvious questions then (since I'm too lazy to dig through the
net...::sheepish grin::) would be what are the regs for building a character for the SR
games, and whereabouts will this be? Anywhere close to Ft. Collins, CO? Last but not
least, how much ¥?

This is good news. My group did not play SR at GenCon last year because
of pressure to win from the year before. We had made it all the way to
the final and suffered a total meltdown that dragged on until the wee
hours of the morning. We felt so much pressure to win that last night
that not only did we suck, but we didn't have any fun either.

The first two nights, when we didn't care about winning, we had loads of
fun, particularly the round where Bull gm'd for us :) I'm looking
forward to participating this year if I can fit it into my schedule.

Gencon is in Milwaukee. All the official SR events use pre-gen characters.

I've requested an afternoon slot for the Tourney this year... 2-6 PM,
Thurs-Sat. Not sure if we got it, but...

And yeah, we missed ya last year man :]

This year there will be a little less pressure, with it being
non-Elimination. Just go, have fun, and roleplay :] if you win, you win,
if not... You get three days of fun. :]
