I am going to respectfully ask that this thread be dropped as it is likely
to become a very polarizing and contentious issue, likely to overshadow
the expressed purpose of the Shadowrun list.

-My <not so> humble opinion-

1) It is relevant
2) Most people on this list are intelligent enough to carry on a civil
conversation
3) if you aren't, then press delete

I have been endeavoring to keep it SR relevant, as it started out:
an inquiry into why few women game, and what might be the cause of that.
It is evolving more into the role of women in the SR universe, and how
various GM's portray women's role in their SR games. I think that's
pretty relevant. I don't think subjects should just be dropped because
they -might- become "contentious"- I think that people should have a
chance to discuss things in a civilized way, and if it -does- become
a problem, then it can be dropped, and should be. I think that any
problem worth discussing is one which might become "contentious", and
refusing to discuss such things is just going to lead to problems and
misunderstandings later.

my OWN "not so humble" opinion.

I agree that this thread may very well become an abomination - but IMHO it is
*well* worth the risk. If all involved keep there heads about them and try
not to make any ( more ) flames, then we could all really learn something.

To be honest, this is the most interesting thread I've read in a long
time. I'm very interested all of your opinions on this subject, and
thank everyone for giving them..
And so far any fear of flamage has been unfounded :)

Well if no one thinks this is a problem, than let the debate go on, and
expect to hear from me frequently on it.

Um, I think we're done. It's been pretty quiet. Sorry, Mr. Limbaugh...
