Hello to all !!!!

I've just joined the list and I greet all of you out.

Now I've got some questions:

1) It's a year I play Shadowrun with a group but we don't have any decker
because we think that it's get boring for the others runners to wait for him
to finish his game full of ices and cubes 8-(......Magic and Muscles can
cooperate while Matrix...I don't know.....It's sad and not entirely
cyberpunk to rent a cowboy anytime or to use a friendly NPC every time we
need info but...
What do you do?I've been told about some systems to play a simple matrix..

2)I really don't understand Barrier spell: it becomes lighter anytime hit ?
And if I quicken it ????

3)Would you tell me the docs or files TO HAVE for SRUN in internet,WWW
server gopher ......[I've been yet in Gurth www!(really nice Gurth !Ilike it!!)

Thanks

Giulio

There are numerous rules floating around about dealing with the matrix.
Gurth seems to have the best resources to acquire them. As for
incorporating a decker into a game. There are two ways my group handled it.

First, we had the decker run shadow to the group. They received information
via notes, most of their combat was hadled alongside the regular groups
combat (just using different weapons). The decker informed the group about
her progress through radio transmission, opening doors, ect.

Second, for data runs. They were either done withle the group was doing
legwork or the group joined the party, through VR goggles and suits (ever
see Johnny Mneumonic [no flames please, just a reference :)], the style of
gogles in the movie, of course ours was used pre-movie). This gave the
whole group an opportunity to run the matrix. The whole system is somewhere
in my old game notes, but the mages hated it.

Lighter, I presume you mean weaker. I used the same rules for spell
barriers as I did for other barriers. What the page numbers are I cannt
remember, Anyone else know?

Paolo is probably the best place to start. His page will take you almost
everywhere. His page can be found at

A magically created barrier is the same as a normal barrier for all intents
and purposes. If hit, it will be damaged according to the barrier rules on
page 98, and will have its Rating reduced accordingly. It could also be
dispelled using the metamagical ability, however, something one would find a
little difficult with a normal barrier. Quickening it would be possible, but
remember that a barrier spell is immobile, so it does seem kind of pointless.
