Yeah, the following is a long-ass goddamn quote block, children, but I'm a
little pissed off at the moment since it's degraded (so quickly, I might
add) to name-calling and blatant insults (on both sides).

For those not affected by this demi-rant, I humbly beg your indulgence.

Arcady, do you *TRY* to go so far out of your way to alienate people that
might otherwise be your ally in this little tete-a-tete? Or is it just a
natural talent you were born with? I'm curious if it's something I, too,
could learn.

I don't prefer to cover such subjects in my game, but I've done it before
and I will again. It happens sometimes, IRL and in-game. I've had NPCs
rape PCs, and vice-versa. We've also role-played the consequences (which
tended to result in the punishment of the guilty, a theme that recurs a lot
around here). It wasn't something pleasant, but it was in fitting with the
characters involved, and it evolved from the situations that those
characters found themselves in (I'm a fairly free-form GM), and the
role-playing in general was good.

Does this make me a depraved sicko? If it does, then maybe I won't out
myself on some of my other hobbies and ideas of what's fun. I tend to think
that it doesn't, and I'm insulted that you feel the need to make blanket
statements

For the record, one of my current players in my primary Texas campaign is
17; we therefore don't deal with some of the more sensitive subjects that we
deal with in, say, my alternate Boston campaign (I don't think his parents
would be overjoyed at having him play a character associated with a coven of
hedonistic nature magicians, all of whom are trying to take on and destroy a
death cult).

It may not be your cup of tea, but that doesn't automatically make it evil
and depraved, nor does it automatically make the people who put it in their
games twisted sickos.

> I'd agree more to that. It's what I've always seen bear out in practice.

After 23 years of role-playing, I'm inclined to think that Marc Renouf is
right: You need to find another group of players. This is another case
where, though I'm inclined to agree with you personally to some extent,
you've managed to really anger me by your stance and your delivery.
