I had a lot of fun torturing one of my PC's once with a new girlfriend.
He met this fabulous Azzie looker at a club one night and eventually
through several RP sessions succeeded in getting a date with the young
lady.
After a few casual nights on the town, she invited him to her house for
dinner and " a little something extra" wink-wink, Know what I mean? :-)

Totally infatuated at this point, the player completely missed all the
clues - "have him for dinner", he looked "good enough to eat", etc.

The young ladie's name was Gwendolyn Gomez, but she went by Wendy.

Needless to say the player was not happy when he awoke from a drug induced
stupor to find himself chained by his feet hanging from the celing, while
his "girlfriend" smiled a big toothy grin from below!

Fortunately the team mage had been keeping an eye on this girl due to some
fomerly noticed "abnormalities" in her aura.

They managed to save him from being food, but he never really recovered his
"ladies' man" reputation. :-)

Thanks.
I used the same trick with another group.
This time the girlfriend's last name was Timans. :-)

Again, in re: your Mantid girlefriend idea.
I used the concept, with the idea that the mantids need male hosts for the
male spirits.
Since they need males to make more females, and the males are consumed
after summoning, it once again left the PC hung out to dry.

<Geez . . . people are going to start thinking I have something against
women. Sorry ladies, it's not all of you. Just a specific few! :-)>

<ROTFLMAO> That is GREAT!! I gotta borrow that one! One of my players
wants to get a girlfriend in the game. His character started out as
basically a naieve 20 year old. He has been wanting to ask out an NPC
from a former module who is old chums with two members in the party.
Maybe this would be better!! :)

Ah mantis spirits. Just got one PC mighty embarresed. Well they were
going to Chicago courtesy a FASA adventure (you either know which or
should not know :) )and had a seating problem over the last minute
extra guest. Well they solved this by one PC deciding to sit the
pretty looking lady on his lap, he was shall we say a little shocked
when she suddenly turned into a bug! (yes they had bothered to astral
scan, by the time they got out again everything in sight was being
scanned senseless).

They aslo found out the nasty way what setting off force 9, fetished
exclusive spells does in bug city, force 11 fly spirits really are
everything they are cracked up to be :) (well using the full stats, i
made it rather random what they got and rolled just a little high! i
usually use stuff that magnitude 1 at a time, 3 force 11's was rotten
but it made the mage that did it a little in the 'do that again and
you gets lead poisioning!' category.)
