Folks,
I've GMed a couple of games online like Battletech and such. Coming up I'm
starting my first Shadowrun game and my first live-game. I'm having trouble
with some of the rules...like the Matrix...and Astral Space. I mean I
understand What to do, its just I don't want to be rifling through the book
constantly. Does anyone have any Programs or text documents that have the
rules broken down on them...I could also use any suggestions in regards to my
first live-game session. Thanks.

Is this your first Shadowrun GM? I'm slightly confused on the wording.
Anyway here is my .02. Check out Paulo's Archive, there
are several items programs etc that may help. Couple
more things. If this is your first GM of shadowrun. Leave
the matrix out. Use NPC for deckers, and adjust the decking
to fit the storyline. VR2 is a good book, but technical, and you
have to have players interested in that sorta stuff.
As far as astral, get very familiar with the base magic rules
before using astral space for much beyond recon. Alot of
astral space specifics still get debates and hashed out
here on a regular basis. Go through the book, and make
notes of all the rules you'll need for the NPCS.
(Mine fits on two pages, but I'm constantly adjusting it.)
Damage Codes, how to summor spirits, spirit powers etc.
SR has a heck of alot more variety then BT does.
Prepartation is essential until you know the rules backwards
and forewards (or you can borrow gurths brain :))
Even then, I take alot my "cheat" sheet.
Good luck. Damn I'm in a rambling mode again.

Check the shadowrun archive. As I recall someone did a complete set of
tables and charts with all of the various conditions/modifiers on them
for a wide variety of situations. That would be a good place to start.
I think you'll find your characters are pretty good about it though. If
you don't have the rules memorized, don't let it throw you. Just relax
and have fun. Everything else comes with time.
