I've tried this, but have had limited success. I'm currently in the
middle of writing an adventure that's been in progress for a month now.
I can only _hope_ my players won't crank it through the munchkin machine.

The one thing that players cannot be counted on is to follow any
adventure. I've forgotten the number of times that us as the
characters have gone off on such a tangent to the game. One example
that springs to mind was the fact the GM had planned a game (which we
still havn't played), all we said when we started was that we wanted
to clear up a detail from the previous gameing sessions that
where unresolved ie telling a contact something (I forget exactly
what) and in passing we mentioned something else (accidentally) from
an unconnected run. Fourteen hours later, we finished the game with
Loftwyer destroying the Octagon in Seattle. Hows that for a 'off the
top game'
