Decking is a great part of SR but it can be overwelming. One thing in
particular is to just make sure you know all of the rules as well as any
players playing deckers as well. Read VR2 if you have it, then read it
again, repeat 6-8 times intermixing playing a decker in between and then
you might have it down. (:

I live here in Atlanta, the HQ of WW. I game with one of their founders
and more popular writers (Sam Chupp, he wrote among other things The Book
of Nod or something like that which was sort of like the Vampire Bible).
You should hear the way he and some of the other WW crew talk about these
kids. He no longer works for them mostly because he and a few others
hated the whole World of Darkness theme. His view was that the world
should have been more like Sr in outlook (he referred to it as the World
of Mostly Dimness) where things suck and while there isn't much hope, if
you play your cards right, work hard and get a little lucky you can make
it a better place. While we use the WW Mage system in the game we play
it is not based in their world becasue he has such a high disdain for it.

But even there u don't see nothing else but titles. The links are not

However the rest of the site is pretty much interesting.
It's funny to see how people think when they have almost no brains and
try to interpret the holy scripts :-)

I did get my hands on one of the "temporary passes" the judges had on
their labcoats at the start of the tournament session, but I think that
was after you and Paolo had left for the airport -- Granite had a bag full
of them, and gave a couple to (IIRC) Caric, Tony, and me when we were
talking to him on Sunday afternoon.

I do however like your point about the sports fans. I used to get some
strange looks from non-game playing people when I could tick off game vision
modifiers or stats of a vehicle or weapon (most from exposure in play) in a
conversation with another game player. One person actually said something (a
sports expert, hehe) and I asked him who had the most RBI's in baseball for
1977 or some other mundane factoid and he spouted it off without missing a
beat. He grinned nervously and I had made my point. Neither fact matters a
hill of beans today, but everyone is entitled to their interests.

A new branch of the WoD game, I believe. Something about humans
who've begun to pierce the lies of the primary character types of the
WW games and have taken steps to prevent this. I'm interested in it,
but I'm interested in the same way that I'm interested in 20-car
pileups on I-75.

You'll never guess what I'm listening to..
A record player...I picked up a very nice steroe at the local
Salvation Army for $5..IT would have cost at least a hundred times
that new..But I digress..
Now you ask..What the heck is he on and why
do I care.. My thought is this..
How secure would an old tech storage device be in the world of SR??
I mean if the formula for time travel is recorded on an edison tube
today how likely would it be that anyone on this list would be able
to decode it??
[An edison tube is very much the same thing as an old stye record
except about the same shape and size as a toilet paper center tube]
So how do you think this sort of thing would apply in SR..say with
the info recorded onto a current tech CD or perhaps recording it onto
tape...How secure do you think that would be?

I used the LARPER Vampire Wannabe's idea in my game on Saturday,
although my players were asking quite quickly if they were just a bunch
of kids before they charged in guns ablazing. Rats thought I, so changed
them to a cult that was about to sacrifice a young woman in white. The
PC's charged in, wounded the cultists and are now facing legal action
from the young woman (leader of the cult - it was only a symbolic
sacrifice) for shooting her worshippers.

could've been worse :)

Almost makes you wonder if one of your players is on this list, doesn't it?
Taking away from your fun like that... ;-P

Yeah, they could have been a bunch of people all under the influence of a
single, massively evil (not necessarily powerful) spirit and didn't really
know what they were doing.

Justin, you are *not* normal boy, don't even try to convince them that you
are, we all know the..."truth".
