For a good laugh, check out this URL. Did you know that Washing
machines with transparent lids are Satanic? He doesn't list
Shadowrun, though he does have a bunch of others listed. Should we
enlighten him?

If whoever it is believes this drek let them be a fool all by
themselves..Adding our name [so to speak] to the list will not do our
game or our hobby in general any good...But it will lend credance to
that person's misguided beliefs if we go and antagonize them..

No.. I can't do that with any alacrity from home..I will have to do
it from work..

> NO-ONE in the RPG industry can take him seriously. Especially when he says

It is not the RPG industry I worry about..It is Joe Shmoe..the guy
that doesn't know the first thing about RPGing..he is the one who is
likely to be duped..Not the guys down at FASA...

> And when he says "1.Loses interest in other, good hobbies "

Or perhaps a moron on a quest..

My point is..We don't need bad press no matter how stupid the
source..Especially when Drek for brains gets to put up on his little
page something like this:

And then the hords that are controlled by Satan attacked me with a
flame war that went on for weeks..But I prevailed..I am still here
and here is an excerpt from one of their letters complete with the
poor lost souls address.

"YOU WOULDN'T KNOW EVIL IF IT LANDED ON YOUR FACE AND WIGGLED!
I'LL SHOW YOU EVIL SLOT . I'LL SEND A DEMON STRAIGHT FROM THE
FARTHEST CORNERS OF HELL TO NEST IN YOUR ARM PIT!!"

Would you want it to be your message that now gets to be used as a
flag to show what the bad people that play those games said to this
pea brained moron?

And I know for a fact there are more than a couple of people on this
list that would take this very slant except make it a lot worse than
in my little example..

If you want to try and convert the guy..Go ahead..Just take your time
and keep your cool..Otherwise he could turn out the winner no matter
how it ends up.. And the bigger the idiot the bigger the tabloid or
real news source that will print the idiot..because it is a
contraversy and contraversy sells..

Despite the "This is not a joke" bit at the end of the page, I'm
voting for crank. In particular, look at the link to Microsoft
(funny, that's the one that I _DID_ think was Satanic). The link
goes to
http://who.the.hell.wants.to.purchase.something.from.micros0ft.com
which doesn't exist (duh!). I doubt such language would be used by
someone doing that site for real.

Hehe. Thanks Brett. Made my day. What a loser. He must have trouble
just leaving his house. He says you can't eat blood, and vegetarians
are satanic? What the hell does he eat? Bread and water?

This page is just a spoof the guy made up. If you go to other places on his
page, you'll see that he is a
gamer from the Netherlands (I think).

Still though, it is rather hilarious.

Boy... some people just aren't able to percieve the difference between
fiction and reality.

On the other hand, he DID manage to actually spell 'Cthulhu' correctly -

Really, I don't see why any true *gamer* would visit a site that bashes
one of their hobbies. Going out, visiting a site like that only does
exactly what the author of the site wants, to get a rise out of what he
thinks are idiots, satanists, and the like. I'm going to do what I
recommend most *gamers* on this list do, blackball the site.

It's definitely a joke site. A joke in EXTREMELY bad taste, but a joke
nonetheless. From the pic on another part of his page, he's got a pretty
nice collection of RPG books. Also, pay attention to the background of
the page, it's tiled pentagrams(the upside-down variant.) There's also a
link from Jesus Christ to alt.fuck.the.skull.of.Jesus, one of the most
distasteful bits on there, and I'm a pagan! Personally, I'd just as soon
boot him into the Australian Outback butt naked than look at him.

Nothing does. And hopefully, if I pick the right place, by the time

Hey! Is you sayin I taint a real gamer?

I was actually trying to visit sites of that type so that I could
collect info for a site that would be Anti-Anti-RPG (basically
Pro-RPG) like the wonderful (but old) Stackpole info against BADD.
however, I stumbled onto several sites like this that question the
validity of any of the info out there. Interestingly, I found more
"fake" anti-RPG sites than real ones.

Besides, do you know the expression, "Know thine enemy?"
Understanding what John Q. Public is being told about our favorite
hobbies is important. (Did I say hobbies? I meant ritualistic
Satanic enlightenment activities. :) )

I think the third one is the one he uses on the anti-rpg page.

William Henry Gates supposedly adds up to 666.

anyone know the logic behind this? I haven't spent the time to
actually convert it (I do have a life) but I know that H+e+n+r+y != 3
in ASCII.

I can understand how there are more "fake" sites than real anti-RpG
sites. Think about, what kind of buttmunch has nothing better to do with
his time than devote his hard earned web page to anti-rpging.

Me as a roleplayer, I have no enemies, I only have minor annoyances.
Besides, why would I want to look at some retards web site, when I've got
the highlights from the list :) Besides, sometimes if some beleives you
sacrifice baby kittens to Dunkelzahn, then they're less likely to mess
with you in real life (Whatever that is to these people!) Although I do
have to think about a story I heard about concentration camps in the
40's:

"When they came to take the total strangers, I didn't stand up for them.
When they came to take my friends, I didn't stand up for them.
When they came to take my family, I didn't stand up for them.
When they came to take me, there was nobody left to stand up for me."

That's why I don't like people bashing games like M:TG. Sooner or later
either the Liberals will take over the house and we'll have less to worry
about, on the other hand, the right wing might take back over. Only then
would I fear for Fantasy gaming. Oh well, I've been ranting long enough.

I think the original quote was made by a doctor in Germany or Poland
(I can never remember which) and it went through different
professions and religions, but the end result is the same idea...your
quote boils it down quite well. I thought the original went
something like "When they came for the Jews, I didn't do anything
because I wasn't Jewish. When they came for the Catholics, I didn't
do anything because I wasn't Catholic." etc. Nit-picking, but it
sounds more believable than someone ignoring his friends and family.
Anyone out there have the full original quote?

With a Juno account, I'm going to assume you are U.S.

I wouldn't rely to much on the liberals....I consider myself a fairly
liberal fellow, but in the last three years the liberals haven't been
so liberal. (Can we say CDA? Budget Agreement? I list off more,
but that's a bit OT.

Hey, Gurth and Bull! I had a dream the two of you were in last night
(no comments please). We were cruising town in a Jeep and trashing
store windows...very weird. Weirder yet, Gurth looked like Bull, and
Bull looked like Spike! (I blame Tinner's Who's Who page.)

Well, when I checked the ASCII chart *I* have, William Henry Gates
translates into 1737, and Henry translates to 446, so unless I'm doing it
COMPLETELY wrong, it doesn't translate over. (William Gates 3 doesn't
either.)

Actually, he does realize exactly what he's doing, and is probably the
main reason he's doing it. Sure, he's "making a statement" about the
ridiculousness of the Anti-RPG movement(he is a gamer) but he's slamming
just about everything that annoys him in the process just because he can.
It's in extremely bad taste, and he more than likely uses every drug he
can get his hands on himself. One thing I take exception to is the use of
the inverted pentacle wallpaper, which points out some interesting
possibilities, as that is a symbol for those who place the spiritual in
subservience to the physical, which is very much backwards. And I just
turned 10 words into a psychoanalysis. I've GOTTA stop doing that. =)

Well, since schools, congressman, and irate mothers everywhere are
bashing fantasy card games(Mtg being banned from many schools, including
mine.), and fantasy card gaming is as close to a brother as rpg's will
probably ever see, I figured the quote would have more validity the way I
heard it (although for the life of me I cannot remember where the hell I
heard, and that bothers me quite a bit:)).

Go up to a local religious person (reverned, priest, father, demigod,
whatever you feel.) I'm sure they would have the quote.

Astute detective work Holmes;)

I would guess that your U.S. as well seeing as what you mentioned in
parenthesis (I don't know, maybe some of the Euro members on the list can
tell us if there governments have this much trouble with the Budget.), I
would really just consider myself a person that would vote for non-idiots
(which is really becoming harder, and harder to find, maybe they should
make they're own party, but then everybody would join it because people
might think that they're really non-idiots, then we'd have big problems,
and then I'd just move to a nudist colony to get away from it all, and
then I'd die from pneumonia in the winter time, so I hope that never
happens:)), but really, how many senators have you seen, on T.V or other
wise, bash fantasy gaming. I haven't, and I watch T.V. all of the time,
and I go to political rallies all of the time. I think that it's being
blown up by the media.
